Hi, I have a question about cysts. I am 31. My last af was aug 26th. I have taken a few hpt but all have been bfn (had tubes tied wasnt expecting to much different lol!). I have an appointment with my doc on weds (10/19). But I am curious now. I have been reading on the internet about diff gyno probs and I think my probs leans toward a cyst. My symptoms have been, A heavy feeling in my lower abdomin, spotting now for last 2 weeks (off and on heavy and light then nothing), I have pain more toward my right side. If I press on my belly near my pelvic bone I can feel a sharp jab run threw me. Other times I have a warm throbby most of the time crampy feeling there. If I sit and do nothing I am fine the spotting and pain stops, but the moment I get up and move around to much the pain and spotting starts again. I have now skipped two af cycles with no signs thats its coming at all. The one wierd thing that I never knew went with a cyst was the trouble urinating. I noticed about 3 months ago I was having trouble emptying my bladder, it wasnt burning or stinging just had to really push to get the urine out. Then that months period was lighter and shorter than normal, then the following month is when the cycles stopped.

I have no insurance and unsure what all will be done to check and see if I am right in my thinking or not. Has anyone had a cyst before that they can tell me anything about it? I have never had a problem with my af's til they just stopped coming for 2 months now. Never had heavy bleeding or really bad cramps or anything of that nature. Guess I am a lucky one that gets a headache the day before then boom af is here then gone. Now that I am having a prob it scares me cause it just came out of the blue one day.

I know I have had cysts before on my ovaries. But they have never ever caused me a problem. If fact they were found by accident then went away on there own. One was found when I was pregnant and it went away in time. The other was found when I was in a car accident and they did an MRI and found it, but it also went away. I am sure there has been others but I have never been aware of them.

Like I said I am just scared and hoping someone can shed some light on this and ease my mind til I make it to the docs in a few days. I feel its a cyst but I wont be sure until my gyno appointment.

It sounds like there is a good possibility that you are right. It will take a u/s to know for sure. The only advice that I have is to rest, drink lots of water and hopefully that appt. will come quick. If it is a cyst, I can recommend a castor oil pack. It can really help. May the time fly by! Hey,

Sounds like a cyst to me, but you should go to the Doc anyway. I have Endo so i get them all the time. Luckly i had to have 1 removed, the rest just ruptured. The funny thing about them is if they rupture on their own, it hurts while there preasnt, you feel like your gonna die when it does rupture, but then its like nothing ever was wrong in the first place. Use a heating pad, it helps with the cramps.

Ty all for the responses. I went to the doc today and he did an exam and a quick ultrasound in office and it was a small cyst on my right ovary. He said that is definitly why I was cramping and my periods were all messed up. He said its so small that it should go away on its own without having to drain or surgically remove it. He placed me on birth control pills for 3 months to prevent ovalution and to try to regulate my cycles again. He said that after 3 months when I go off the pill that if I still am having a problem with my periods or still have probs with the cyst I should come back and he will look into further treatments.

Over all I was very happy with my visit today. I was sooooooo worried about ectopic pregnancy since I do have my tubes tied. But he said he will give me a clean bill of health as everything heart, lung, and womenhood was fine other than the cyst probs.

Thank you all again for the replies!!!!!!!!!!! I apperciated them all! Help to put my mind at ease and helped me think of questions and things like that to ask!
