Ok, serious problem. I keep getting vaginal yeast infections. I am on my 3rd in the past 6 weeks:( Im taking acidophilus, upon the over the counter creams, but they just keep coming. My doctor has perscribed the diflucan over and over and keeps me stocked with a ten day supply at all times.....YES 10 DAYS supply. The regular two days doesn't do it for me. I never had this problem before WTF? It has only been this bad sense my LTBF of two years. Could i be allerigic to him? Its to the point i feel after everytime we have sex i have to run to the bathroom to wash. Anyone have an idea whats going on?

Something so simple that most ppl over look when it comes to recurrent yeast infections is that they also need to treat there parnters. You can just pass it back and forth without realizing it. Your best bet is to also treat him with an over the counter yeast infection cream too. He may not like it but for your well being its best. My hubby learned a few years back when I was also having recurrent infections and finally I said enoughs enough either use this cream or never touch me again. Well needless to say he used the cream and problem solved!

Hope this helps!

Are you diabetic? People with diabetes (or HIV) often have recurring yeast infections.

My doctor has told me to eat yogurt and to wear cotton or silk panties to keep from getting yeast infections. Yogurt has bacteria that can help prevent the overgrowth of yeast, and cotton or silk underwear breathe and don't allow moisture to stay close to your skin.

Also, what kind of birth control do you use? I find that I get more yeast infections when I'm on the pill than when I am not.

Good luck, I know yeast infections are very annoying!!

I am sorry that you are having all this trouble. I would definately get DH treated. That may be the main problem. Also, is the acidophilus that you are using fresh? Live cultures? It also needs to be stored in the fridge. Another thing that will help is to stay away from carbs. That is what the little yeasties eat. Good luck! Laura

Thanks Everyone for all your imput. but i do have another question how do i treat my LTBF? Can he use the same monistat I use? Or does he need to take the oral pill? I didn't realize he could be carrying this, it makes a lot of sense though.

Lifly,

It would be best to give your doctor a call-I'm not really sure of the best way for his treatment. Perhaps one of the other ladies will have another answer.

Over the counter cream should work. Just make sure not to scare the crap out of him and show him that egg looking one (sorry just had to throw that one in there lol!). The thing with the men is its usually never as bad as the women get it thats why I say the cream would be fine. Treat him according to the package.

Hmmm, well actually I used to cl for a long time and then last year my computer crashed and I had to resign. Now that I am back, I am looking for something. Health has always interested me. They say, though, that I need to post for a month before I even think about it. If you are interested in me joining in I will email and see if it can happen. You can email me at tobineze@yahoo.com. Thanks for suggesting it! Laura
