I was just wondering if anyone has every expierenced these symptoms, I had a tubal ligation in June 05, well I have had a period in August that was a week and a half late, but i had one. It is now October and I am 3 weeks late. I have been to the Doctor due to cramping and side pain, they have done a pregnancy test about 3 times now all negative, I have had my thyroid, estrogen, cbc, and an ultra sound and xray on these areas, all normal according to the DR. I don't know what is going on because I am having a slight discomfort on the left side around the hip area.( Feels like the same pain you expierence when having intercourse and the cervix gets hit)Does anyone have any suggestions on this matter
Thanks Tamara

Greetings and Welcome Tamara, Welcome to Other Women's Health Issues!
The only reason I thought of this is because of another recent post, that doesn't make it
I too have been having probs and I also had my tubes tied ( 8 years ago thought). My prob was a cyst. Not saying thats what your is thought!
I remember when I got my tubes tied in 1998, I did have alot of pain after fact. Not just after the surgery but also for a few months after. My doc said it was because my body just went threw an operation and it needed time to collect its self so to say. The pain was on the sides about where the tubes were tied. They were like jabby pains when I moved wrong or coughed or sneezed ( you get the picture there). And I cramped alot but I had just had a baby 6 weeks before I had the surgery so alot of that was my body getting back to the way it was before pregnancy (of course it would of been nice if it finished the job and shrunk the baby pouch too!!! lol!!!).
Now a few questions: Did you recently have a baby? If so are you breastfeeding? Are you on any new medications? Where you on the pill prior to your tubes being tied if you havent had a baby recent?
If they have run alot of tests on you already, I am sure its not anything serious since everything is coming back negative and the doc has said everything was normal. You could always go to someone else for a second opinion if it would make you feel better. Sorry I cant be much more help. But I would like to point you in the direction of this website I came across when I was looking up a problem I had recently... http://www.fwhc.org/birth-control/tubalig.htm . Under your health section they state: Some women report having post-tubal sterilization syndrome. The symptoms include irregular and painful periods, mid-cycle bleeding, or no periods. This May not apply to you but its something thats not really said to women! And really worth a look at, and ask your doc about!
