16dd with breast problems

My 16dd recently told me that she has blood around her nipples - the skin looks like it is cracking and there is a clear/bloody oozing thing going on. We saw her gyno this morning and she said something about papilloma but felt no lumps....and is sending her to a breast surgeon for further evaluation. Of course, I went onto MayClinic.com and looked up anything having to do with nipple discharge or pain and the item that fits the description best is something called Paget's Disease. So, now I'm shaking in my boots.

Any thoughts...at all?

Thanks - I have actually been staying calm about it....that first day I was wreck, but I'm feeling better about it now. My only thoughts are that, A) the discharge is not coming directly from the nipple. It's at the are where the nipple and the areola meet. Just outside of the nipple, not through the ducts per se; and B) my dd crazily tried to pierce her own nipples a few months ago and we're wondering if maybe that's what is causing this.

We have an appt with the breast surgeon for Thursday and we will know more then I guess and have our questions answered. But maybe you or someone here can answer this question so I don't have to wait till then: How do they remove or eliminate a papilloma from the breast?

Since this is not coming from her nipple, Intraductal Papilloma, might not be the answer and I think trying to pierce her nipples may have a lot to do with this-there may be an infection of some type.

I am not really sure of

I agree, I think that there is a high chance that something happened when she tried to pierce her nipples.

UPDATE!

Where's the 'relief' icon? Her DR at the breast center said that dd likely has an infection in her right breast so she prescribed an antibiotic and a cortisone cream. The DR doesn't know or can't explain how dd could have gotten an infection in her breast, she ruled out dd's trying to pierce her nipple (though I still think that could have been it) because it was too long before the trouble began. If after 4 weeks taking and using the antibiotic/cream does not work, then they will consider doing an ultrasound. But right now she said dd's breast have no lumps or any suspicious anything.

So yeah! I'm so relieved. Thanks for everyone's thoughts/prayers for dd.
