My gyno says I have thick Lining.

Hi Guys,
I went for my yearly gyno appointment last week. Make a long story short, everything is fine but he says I have a thick lining. He wants me to have a biopsy. I'm so scared. My girlfriend had this done last year and it hurts terribly. My gyno says he wants to rule out cancer. If not cancer, I need D&C - I'm 44, no children. Does anyone have any feedback on this? Have any of you ever had a biopsy. Did it hurt like hell? Thank you so very much. Laura/NJ

Welcome!
This has been discussed at length on the menopause/perimenopause board. One thing I did remember from reading is that it's not painful and if you take some aleve before the procedure is done, it will make it even less uncomfortable.

Laura, Be sure to check out the board Lynne mentioned. Use the "find messages about" first.
Even with a D&C be prepared for bleeding.
