I went for cherries. I really love peaches but it is so rare to find a good peach any more --- especially around here as they must be shipped in from far far away...

There were two week periods in Beijing when little flat peaches were in the market: HEAVEN! I think they are called "donut peaches" in the US...http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/fruit_garden/92737

I love peaches, but so far this year, they have been tasteless.

Oh definitely peaches! A friend just dropped off a bushel and we are going to be making some peach cobbler real soon. ;)

I voted for nectaplum, since I tasted one for the first time last year and loved it! That's not surprising, since I like both nectarines and plums. I also like peaches, cherries and pluots. I'm not crazy about apricots or apriums for eating fresh, although I do like apricots in recipes. I've never tried a peacotum.

I count myself lucky to live in a state that produces outstanding stone fruit!

Cherries and plums are both good choices! Everything here was late this year, and the cherries weren't as delicious as usual. A lot of the plums are just now ripening. I had a couple last week that were yummy!

My daughter LOVES donut peaches! I prefer a good old-fashioned freestone like an Elberta or a Redhaven, but I have to admit the donut peaches are sweeter.

How disappointing that the peaches you've found have been tasteless! I had a similar experience with cherries this year. We're just getting into the middle of peach season, so maybe things will improve!

LOL I tell you what. I'll make it really easy for you, I'll go head and eat your portion and then tell you all about it so you don't have to wait. ;)
