I am a stay at home mom. I have been home for 2years and we are expecting this spring. Also we plan to have one more child in about 2 more years. I love staying at home and raising my children. However, I just started thinking, if I stay home with all of them until they begin school, I will be at home for about 10 years. Like I said, I love it but I'm just wondering if anyone else is debating going back to work or school also.

I've been a SAHM for almost 8 yrs. now. My youngest will be in 1st Grade next year and I'm trying to decide what I want to do. Financially we're comfortable so it's not like I NEED to go back to work, but I'm on the fence. I'm very happy as a SAHM but kind of have an itch to get back into the work force. *If* I do it would be strictly PT and during school hours so that I could be with my kids after school. I taught for ten years before becoming a mother. I'm currently an active volunteer at my DK's school and several of the teachers are encouraging me to substitute or become a para. It's very tempting, but.... I just don't know. I figure I'll *know* when the time is right. Right?! LOL! I'm very fortunate that DH's successful career has enabled me to be a SAHM. I want to take advantage of it for as long as I can. After all, my kids will only be little once!

I have been a SAHM for 8 1/2 years now and by the time my youngest is in school I will have been home for 12 years and I can honestly say that I don't have the "need" to get right back to work. There are so many opportunities for volunteering at the kids' schoolm if all the moms quick ran back to work, how would it all get done? I know a lot of SAHM's are just counting down the days when they can "get their life back" and get back to work, but I say there is nothing wrong with the life that I have now and I see no need to change that. So, to answer your question, I am not one of those mom's that is in on that debate.
