My name is anne and I am a mother of three young children. Before I became a mother, I was a technical writer. I didn't write much after my first baby...that was only one of many changes that took place after my transition into motherhood. However, I am now writing again...I'm working on a book, a book about mothers and the changes that have occurred in their lives. I have received great support from Rutgers University and their publishing department. I have a group of mothers that I meet with once a month in order to collect stories and data...I am here hoping to do the same. This is a very important book that will cover material I have never seen written before. I am very devoted to its cause and helping women transition well. Periodically I will post a question and hope for responses. I could use your help and your experiences to confirm what I have hypothesized about mothers...

Question: How are you different from the woman you perceived yourself as being before you had a child? For example, I am more uptight, not as easygoing...I can be frequently irritable...I'm not as thin...etc...please feel free to explain or elaborate...I am always interested in the stories I hear...Thank you ...

What you are doing sounds like a great idea!As for your question-Being a mommy has made me very soft hearted.I used to feel bad when I heard things on the news, like some ones child missing, hurt or killed, but now it makes me cry.I just know how awful I would feel if that was my child.Overall it has made me a very sympathetic sensitive person. Also being a mommy has given me a feeling of being complete.I am happily married but didn't realize something was missing until our son was born!It is such a wonderful feeling to know that I brought this sweet little person into the world!Motherhood is hard work, but it is SO WORTH IT!
