Yesturday morning my 2month ds woke up with white spots on his tongue and lips, so I remebered reading about thrush and called the dr. they didn't see him, they just ordered a pre. well does anyone know what causes this, I always wash my hands before I touch him, infact my hands are so dry they are chapping from washing them 1000 times a day. If you kno what causes them let me know.

I looked all over the comp about it and found nothing.........

THANK YOU

Im not sure what causes it but I know it is quite common. Do you brestfeed? If you do you need to talke to you OB and get meds for you. My DD got it when she was young and I had to put meds on my breast so we would not just keep spredding it. I think it can make you sick too if it dont get taken care of(if you b-feed) Kerri

My dd kept getting it over and over again. I brought her to the dr. after weeks of retreating it we realized that her sucking on the bottle nipples causing friction was the cause of her not getting rid of it. I had to change the kind of nipple we used. I was using the orthodonic nipple b/c that is what was best to help her mouth form properly. So I changed to a round nipple and she never got it again..
