Okay- so i use to work in the lab here at the hospital. Tomorrow night there is a strike vote for the union which I am still officially a member of. The union guy at work calls and asks if I will walk the picket line and I would be getting strike pay. I don't really want to do this. I am not sure for how many hours a week it would be and i don't care about the money. The only thing is it would probably be pretty crappy of me to benefit by getting higher wages if the strike is successful when I do go back eventually. I would feel pretty bad plus my co-workers are awesome. Another thing is he mentioned about working essential servcies which would be impossible for me. Since I've left they have all new machines/technology. They'd have to break out the body bags- I wouldn't have a clue what I was doing. So anyway- I have to go see him soon and give him an answer tomorrow. What do you think I should do?

I think you are fine if you don't walk the picket line because you are walking off the job to show the union that you are supporting the strike. Whatever you do, do not cross and go back to work before the strike is over or you'll be labeled a SCAB for life. Good luck and I hope the strike ends quickly.

Yeah, I told them if they strike I willpicket. I am not currently working there but I may have to go back to work for the summer. Right now I am a SAHM but if i have to go on strike with them I will be making more money on strike!
