Hello Everyone,

I have a question regarding hair loss. I know this happens after you have your baby but my hair line is now receeding. Is this normal?? How long is hair loss suppose to last and how much hair are you suppose to lose?

Thanks for any explanations.

I have 4 children, my oldest being 6 and my youngest being 6 months. I had hair loss with all of them, but the degree being different with each one. With my third, I had hair loss pretty bad, I would have handfulls everytime I brushed my hair! This went on for about 9 months, getting better only after I stopped breast feeding. My last baby I hardly had any at all. I dont know about the receeding, unless its just that your hair loss is that great. Make sure your still taking your prenatal vitamins. And make sure you are eating enough. I think the average time is 6 months for hair loss but i am not a dr. If you keep up it probably wouldnt hurt to give your dr. a call. You could prob. ask for the nurse, and get some advise over the phone. How old is your baby now?

Good luck

I had the same problem... receding hair line & bald spots. It was pretty bad, and it scared me at first. My dd is almost 11 months old now, and my hair has finally grown back in and is about 2 inches long. I agree... make sure you take your vitamins and eat healthy. Don't worry, you won't be bald forever LOL.

I know how you feel. I have shoulder length hair and I have noticed it is receding at my temples. I don't know how long it lasts either, but I do know it will eventually stop. My DD is 5 mos. and I didn't start losing hair until about 2-3 mos. ago. After I brush my hair I seem to get alot in my brush and in my hand. I am forever using the lint roller on the back of my shirts!! Anyways, just thought I would let you know there is someone out there like you!!!

Take Care,

Elizabeth

I had it to. It started when dd was about 2 months old, and finally stopped when she was about 7 months old. My hair has grown back, but it will take a while for it to grow out of the funny "new hair" stage... the little standy-uppy-things that appear when you look in the mirror in the morning. It will pass, but if you are concerened, go see your doctor.
