I was talking with my friend Samantha today. About how I was glad I hadn't had AF yet, well she kinda looked at me in a weird way and said "your still haven't had your period yet." I laughed and said no. But then she said she had AF a month and a half after her DD Tyler was born, who is only a month older than my DD Haylei(will be 3 months on 3/12). Now I am worried I'm PG, somebody help me! I don't know what to do. DH had a vasectomy to prevent this. Its not that we can't afford another but we really don't want another, please please please give me advice! I need ANSWERS ASAP!

TIA,

Shelby

Don't be scared Shelby,If you are breastfeeding it may be very normal.I haven't had my period yet either, and my son is 6 months old,but I am still breastfeeding.I would be scared too if I got pregnant again so soon, but I am on the pill and breastfeeding,so I don't think it is anything to worry about.Besides I would probably be having some symtems like morning sickness etc.. like I did with my son.I really doubt that you are PG!Hope that makes you feel a little better!!Hugs!

If you are worried, the first thing I would tell you is to get a test. Then, if it is negative and you are still worried, go to your doctor.

I nursed for a year and went 6 months before my cycle started. I also know a woman who was nursing and not using BC and got pregnant when her baby was a few months old. It does happen. While breastfeeding is a form of birth control, it is not a great one.

That being said, when did your hubby get his vasectomy? Has he been tested to see if it worked? Are you using any other forms of BC? When a man gets fixed, he can still be fertile for several months after. And, although it doesn't happen often, sometimes it doesn't work or reverses itself. The only way to know if it worked is for him to have a sperm count test.

On a positive note, IF you are breastfeeding exclusively and your hubby has a vasectomy, the chances of you getting pregnant are astronomical. If you are, it truly is the will of the universe!

It took me about 4.5 months to get my first period after having dd. After the first af, it went mia for months. She is now 9 months old, and still af comes 2 a month at times, and then goes away for a few weeks. My dr said it is normal. She was my 1st baby, I don't know if that makes a difference. Before pregnancy, my af was always like clockwork, after, it has been soooooo unpredictable. You never know!

If you are very concerned, take a hpt, or go to your doctor. Chances are if your dh had a snip, then you aren't, but there is always a chance, stranger things have happened.

I am a nurse and breastfeeding is NOT a form of birth control!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a certain type of birthcontrol pill you can take while breastfeeding that does not contain estrogen and will not hurt the baby. Talk to your gynecologist and they can put you on it.

I agree with the others especially if you are nursing. I have had several friends who have gone as much as a year without having her period while bfing. If you are not bfing, there is still a small chance in that you're body is just not ready to have a period. And if you are concerned, by all means take a test or go see your doctor. There is no way for any of us to tell you yes you are or no you are not. We can only guess! And I agree that breastfeeding is not a form of birth control! It just so happens that a lot of women do not get their period for awhile when nursing but just because you are not menstrating does not mean you can not get pregnant. I wish you lots of luck and that you get the results you hope for!

Keep us updated!

Take a pregnancy test! If it comes back negative..then go to the docotor... You have a cist or something. But since I am against abortion......I will say keep the baby if you are pregnant...you may not want it know..but after you have it....u will change ya mind.

Have you took a pg test?

If you are that concerned, do that or go to your dr and confirm it one way or another.
