Swing Recommendations??

I didn't think it was possible for an infant to not like a swing, but it is. My parents bought the Ocean Wonders Cradle Swing for my son, and the motor burnt out after only a few days. We brought it back to the store and just wanted to exchange it, but they were out of stock. Two strikes was enough for me - I took it as a sign that it wasn't the right swing for us - it took up a LOT of space, required some real manuevering to get Dylan in and out of, was noisy as all get-out, and reportedly chowed batteries at twice the rate of other models. So I looked around at others, and decided on the Link A Doos Magical Mobile Swing. Well, Dylan isn't so thrilled with this swing. If he's fussy, putting him in it just amps him up more, and if he's mellow he's only willing to be in it about 20 minutes. It just seems to be too stimulating.

Should I just return it and go back to the Ocean Wonders? Dylan really seemed to like that one. Or can anyone recommend a current model?

We bought a swing called Swing 'n Meals. Our dd loved it. It is used as s swing, and then converts to a high chair. There are 3 levels of speed. Another thing we did was buy a battery recharger, and rechargable batteries for all her toys. It has saved us a ton of money. It seems like every toy needs batteries now. We liked the swing we have because it can be used as a high chair later on, and isn't useless once she outgrows the swing.

Good luck

Hi there,

First of all how old is your son? Because he's only gonna be in a swing for about the first 6 months anyways. So if he's close to that don't bother. Maybe he just doesn't like swings period. I know my DD hated them after awhile and then some kids will sit in it all day. A swing is just something in the closet picking up dust after awhile anyways. Good luck.

He's only 6 weeks, so it's worth the investment - especially if I can find one he loves, so I can get in an hour or so of not holding him every minute he's awake. He's already 11.5 pounds, and very alert and squirmy when being held, so he's killing my back...
