Sad boy wetting bed. circumcise prob?

My four yr.old wets the bed every night. He started doing this about 6 months after being broke and dry nights were more common than wet. Then he just started wetting at night, so this has been going on for about 1 1/2 yrs. now. His circumcision seams to be (not quite right). He seams to have alot of extra skin, and it will (alot of the time) pull down and wrap around the whole end. He has been getting sore. I think when he wets at night the urine is staying on his skin because of this extra skin. Could this be causing the wetting at night prob? We put pullups on him at night, but there are some nights he wets so much that he leaks the pullups! We limit what he drinks after 5, I just dont understand it. We have tried honey, as the old timers say raw honey before bed will help this. We've taken him to the chiropractor, at first I thought this helped but it turned out to be a coincidense.( I'm a horrible speller)SORRY.

Any suggestions would be very appreciated. His little brother is now pullup free at nights and this is bothering him alot. Every morning they both are eager to check, and he is sad when his little brother is dry and he is not.

Thanks

Well, I don't really have any suggestions for you, but I can say that I know what you are going through. My 5 yo DS has the exact same thing with his circumsion. The best thing you can do with that is pull back the skin and clean it daily. You can also put a small amount of vaseline around it to "protect" the skin. As far as the bedwetting goes, it sounds fairly normal. Especially for a boy. My 5 yo went about 6 mos. after being trained without wetting at night, then suddenly he started again. He went for almost a year wetting nightly. Then he suddenly stopped again and has been dry every night for 6 mos or so. You may want to try the Goodnites brand of "pull-ups" for him as the are specifically made for the bigger kids.

Unfortunately there's not much you can do to help him stop wetting the bed. My younger brother wet every night until he was almost 10. My parents tried everything - restricting water after dinner, waking him every few hours to use the bathroom, a therapist, and probably a lot of other crazy things. He just has to outgrow it.

As far as the circumcision goes - I would have the pediatrician look at it, and soon. A botched circumcision can really cause problems later in life, especially if skin has reattached to the head of the penis - pain, infection, loss of function... It's better to have it corrected as early as possible. I used to work for a urologist who saw this problem pretty often in grown men, and trust me when I say a grown man does not handle corrective surgery on his penis very well.
