Hi! I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice or their experiences? I am having a C-section next month, baby #3. I'll probably be in hospital for 3 days or so. I have been staying at home for the last 2 years, my 2 kids are VERY attached to me and in a pretty steady routine. My oldest son is 3 1/2, he's very mature for his age and he understands that I'll be gone etc. etc. and I am sure he'll be fine. (BTW my hubby will be home with them) Now it's my dd I am worried about. She's 19 months old. Doesn't talk alot yet. She's been sick on and off last few months with UTI's, turns out she has urinary reflux. ANyway, she is extremely attached to me. Won't go to sleep unless I put her in the crib. Follows me around all day, etc etc. I am afraid of what will happen when I am gone. Will she forget me? Or should I have DH bring the kids to see me? I am so worried about this. ANy advice would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks!!

Hmmmmm! First of all...your DD will NOT forget you. Its not like you are going to be gone for years. I think that if you want them to come see you...then thats fine... Let them come and see you and see the new baby. That will be fun for them. Just prepare your DD...tell her she is going to have a baby brother/sister. Tell her you have to go to the hospital to get him/her... and you will have to stay a few days. I know she is young....but children understand more than you may think. Try leaving your kids with a babysitter... for a few hours to get them use to you not being there. It will be hard...but the children will be fine....in fact you will probably be more tore up over it than they will. Just talk to both of the children and prepare them. Find a special picture of yourself and give it to her..that way she can see you..when she needs to. You can also talk to her on the phone.

Good Luck
