Hey guys!

I'm a mom of a 21/2 years old. I gained about 35 pounds with my first pregnancy, 15 of which I have lost afterwards. Right now, I might be pregnant with my second child and I'm freaking out to the idea of gaining another 35 ponds over what I already have now, and so my question is, is there anything I can do not to gain that much or does the baby need that weight gain too be fine at birth??

How much weight you need to gain depends on your build before pregnancy.

For example, if you were underweight before pregnancy your doctor will want you to gain 30 to 40 pounds. (These are averages, I don't know exact weights)

If you were just right then 25 to 30 pounds.

If you were over weight then you can get by with only gaining 15 to 25 pounds. THis is depending on how overweight you were.

Don't use this as a rule! Please check with your doctor for how much is right for you!
