HI all

I posted a few days ago about my son being very sick.

Well since then my DF has been sick too (and still is). Dylan also hasn't gotten much better. His vomiting stopped and the temps have slowed down, but the Diarrhea just seems to be getting worse. He can't keep anything in. not even a simple plain biscuit. He is drinking plenty of water and I don't think he is dehydrated, although i am still worried that he isn't keeping anything him his tummy. He cries and cries cos he is so hungry but i dont know what to do.

ANy advice?? I think that if it hasn't stopped by the morning i will take him back to the doctor... Please help me...

Hi!

I think you should definitely give the Dr a call if you're still concerned...my son had the same thing and didn't eat much for about 6 or 7 days...it was SOOOO scary!

My son went through this too... twice. He went without eating for a week both times (the first time he had vomiting and diarrhea, the second just a cough. I don't get that one, but he wouldn't eat).

When I took my son to the doctor and explained his simptoms (vomiting and diarrhea) the doctor gave me a prescription for something similar to lomotil (a liquid he drank) and a phenergen suppository (nausea medication). He also gave my son a shot of the phenergen before we left his office. This helped sooooooooooooooo much! My son still didn't eat that much and still only on pedialyte at the time until his stomach healed enough to take milk again.

I think I did give my son yogurt too (hi Lori). It will help replace the good bacteria in the bowels (intestines) and help with the diarrhea. If the yogurt makes him vomit please wait a few days to try again.

Sorry your baby is going through this! I know it is scary, but will be fine.

try immodium. that always works for us. make sure you are giving pedialyte, not just water, for dehydration. not much else you can do. his body is trying to get rid of the virus.

Please take them to the dr or ER if you are concerned about them.

It is better to be safe then sorry. I think there is somethign wrong, and it does not hurt to have someone reassure you on way or the other, cause the sooner you know the faster you can get them better or know everything will be ok.

Good luck and I hope they are better soon.
