Happy Hump Day Momma's!

((Hugs)) to anyone who needs them! Hope everyone is having a great day!

Matt is doing some worksheets so I have a few minutes.

I am glad this week is slow for us since we are going to pick up the pace next week. We are going on our first field trip next friday to a ship. It is similiar to the one Christopher Columbus sailed on so it should be fun. Matt is also going to get to talk to a Dr. Smith next week on the phone. This is a man who has looked for several of Christopher Columbus's ships. I emailed him for info and he was intrigued with the idea of homeschooling and offered instead to call Matt and share info over the phone! Wasn't that great of him! Matt also starts football soon and Karate so hopefully everything goes well.

Well I better go, the washer people are coming since ours are still under warranty, this little dohickey things that makes the lid closed broke so they are coming to fix it!

Have a nice day!

Just checkin in today. I haven't been around much lately because I have been to busy.

Anyway, I am working on a shadow box in memory of my Grandpa since he passed away the end of June. Has anyone ever done a shadow box that could give me any tips or ideas?? I have only done one, but this one is totally different and I want it to be special.

Right now I just have everything layed out that I have gathered so far which includes about 3 or 4 pictures - one of him and my grandma on our wedding, one of him in his favorite chair with his white t-shirt and slippers on (that was his everyday attire after he retired) and then a couple of just him. I also have his obituary from the newspaper, his memorial from the funeral, a flower (now dried and flat) from the spread that was on his casket and most importantly a letter that was read at his funeral that my grandmother had written herself - it was soooooo beautiful and made us all cry so we all asked for copies of it. It is even in her handwritting. Then I have several scrapbooking embellishments that say Grandpa,family,love....ect. What else can I or should I add?? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Then in a little bit I might make chocolate chip cookies and a few other things with the kids..they love that!!

Have a great day everyone!

Traci, I wish I had some of your positive, happy attitude. I am really feeling depressed today (its not the first day, its about the 3rd week of real depression). I have been having lots of problems with my youngest son 14(it is really a mothers nightmare). It is just one thing after another and things never seem to look up. If I didnt have this precious little girl I dont think I could make it. My oldest son 18, lives with his father and hates me for leaving his father(4 yrs ago).

Sorry for the whine.... it just came out.
