at school. I will be homeschooling him starting tomorrow.
I am excited and I knwo he is. I have asked him many times to make sure this is what he wants, and he does. So wish us luck.
I told the teacher and she looked upset about him going. I feel bad about that. I don't want to make anyone sad by doing this.
After school is over with, I will be going to the school and withdrawling him and making it official.

I think it's a GREAT decision.

Very few schools/teachers are at the level one wants them to be.
I believe a mom could do a better job.

Just be sure to get him out for sports leagues throughout the year.
I think definitely at least 2 group activities w/ his age/gender that meet at least once/weekly each.

I'd do more intellectually than the homeschooling curricula provides if he's up for it.

With the extra time, I'd see if he wants to learn a language or musical instrument.
Churches, public community centers, YMCA?, libraries offer these extra academic programs for low prices.
It's terrific you're doing this.
REALLY GREAT!!

Whoo hoo! Way to go Mel! You already know how I feel of course...

Have you found a support group in your area yet? Also if there are any nearby school that have half day kindergarten you can always take him to a park in that area...there are usually lots of kids there eating lunch and playing after school. You might also want to check your local community college...Matt is taking a mask making class there as well as a robotics course. He is also involved in our homeschool group that gets together for 2 park days a week, as well as field trips, science clubs, lego clubs and so on. Sometimes it might take a while to find the right homeschool group for you. He will also be starting Spanish language courses at a cultural center that he is really excited about...you would not believe the classes they have for homeschoolers now!

I can't wait to hear about his first day of mommy school! Oh yeah..forgot to say that it helps to name your school. You would not beleive how many times strangers will ask your child what school they go to. It helps them a lot to have something to say. We call ours Lafamilia Academy and even have a school mascot...lol
