doing a dvd of photo montage of thier first year of life, what song would you choose??? I have to get my dd's together...she's almost 2!!! I was given a gift certificate last Christmas to do this. Basically they take 1 song, and approximatly 30-40 pictures, and put it on dvd to record her first year. At first, there was a song I WANTED... it played on the radio as she was born. It was "I will take care of you" by Amy Sky. The creepy part is, the song talks of a mother giving birth to a daughter, and through watching her daughter marrying, then the mom getting old, and her daughter giving birth, and the mom dying. Circle of life. It is perfect because I was 8 months pregnant when my mil died of Pancreatic cancer, but my dh thinks this song is too sad, althought he does see the irony that it was playing the momemt our dd took her first breath.
I was thinking maybe somethig more upbeat and happy. I downloaded My Girl, but it's really short. I also have been thinking of Stevie Wonders "You are the Sunshine of my life" but I would like some more "to date" ideas!!!!
I would love to hear suggestions!
Thanks in advance!
Lesley

I do think it's a good idea to use a current song from when she was born.
& upbeat.
Or a timeless song- like a 'classic' song from the 40s or 50s.
like the one that goes '...you're nothing till somebody loves you...' song from the 50s is v. cute & fun.
otherwise, all i can suggest is maybe a country song - b/c they often are about family- but kinda sad sounding.
like "butterfly kisses" is about a daughter & her dad & it's happy but the music isn't that upbeat.
good luck! that's a hard one. did you try searching on itunes or an aol/yahoo music download site? they may let you put in key terms?
I LOVE Stevie Wonders' "Isn't She Lovely". It's upbeat and has great lyrics. (I hope this link works)

i love this idea!! i have no clue as to your tastes in music or what exactly you have in mind, but the two songs that have special meaning to me and my dd are aerosmith's 'don't want to miss a thing' and 'i hope you dance' by leanne womack. anyway, that's what i'd use :)
Aerosmith--I Don't Want To Miss A Thing
I could stay awake just to hear you breathing
Watch you smile while you are sleeping
While you're far away dreaming
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender
I could stay lost in this moment forever
Every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure
Don't want to close my eyes
I don't want to fall asleep
Cause I'd miss you baby
And I don't want to miss a thing
Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you baby
And I don't want to miss a thing
Lying close to you feeling your heart beating
And I'm wondering what you're dreaming
Wondering if it's me you're seeing
Then I kiss your eyes
And thank God we're together
I just want to stay with you in this moment forever
Forever and ever
Don't want to close my eyes
i don't want to fall asleep
Cause I'd miss you baby
And I don't want to miss a thing
Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you baby
And I don't want to miss a thing
I don't want to miss one smile
I don't want to miss one kiss
I just want to be with you
Right here with you, just like this
I just want to hold you close
Feel your heart so close to mine
And just stay here in this moment
For all the rest of time
Lee Ann Womack - I Hope You Dance
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat
But always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances
But they're worth taking
Lovin' might be a mistake
But it's worth making
Don't let some hell bent heart
Leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out
Reconsider
Give the heavens above
More than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a real and constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)
I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
Dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a real and constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
I hope you dance
(Where those years have gone)
(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)
