Hi Wendy,

This has actually become one of my passions. I always hated water growing up, and drank tea or koolaid. My DH was apalled that I would not drink water. It wasn't until I got pg with my oldest that I began to drink water.

My first step was to find water that I could tolerate. We lived in Salt Lake City at the time, and the water there has things floating in it, so that ruled out tap water. I tried using one of those filtered containers, but that didn't help. I tried bottled water, but it always had a "plastic" taste. Finally, I tried distilled water, and put it in my fridge with the temp set probably way too cold, but I fell in love :o) Ice cold distilled water was the way to go for me!

I think you just have to find out how you like your water (what kind of filtration system, temperature, ice or no ice, etc.)

When I went back to college a couple of years ago, I did a report on the benefits of water. The 6-8 glass a day rule is actually a fallacy. The correct way to determine how much water to drink, is take your weight & divide it in half. That is how many ounces of water you should drink daily. For example, if you weigh 120 pounds, you should drink 60 ounces (7.5 - 8 ounce glasses) daily. A 200 pound person should drink 12.5

I have a 1 liter bottle that goes with me everywhere. I fill it up with my water from home, then bring it on the go. When the water is gone ( and I drink at least 2 a day)I can have a soda, or something else. Keep in mind that non-caffinated beverages can count for 1/2 your water intake too.

I buy the 12 oz bottles, we have alot of iron in our water, so the bottled tastes better. Everytime I am hungry between meals I grab a bottle of water. For me, it has been great, I rarely drink anything else, except of course for some tea occaisionally. I am losing weight, from drinking all that water. NO idea how much, I REFUSE to stand on a scale but, I am now wearing clothes that haven't fit me in 2 years! I rad an aritcle that said 90 something percent of the public is dehydrated and that most of the time when we feel hungry it is just our body telling us we need a drink, so that is how I got started in the water between meals.

Well I don't and I should. I will spend all day in the bathroom if I drink that much.

But when I was PG and drank alot I would mix some with Crystal Light.
