HI,
I haven't been on in awhile but wanted to see if anyone has had experience with this.
Someone in my Dh's office has just had a new baby. She (the baby) had some nursing problems in the beginning and now the mom has had double mastitis. On top of that she has been dx'd with postpartum. The problem is this, she is Korean and part of her cultural background is to NOT really ask for help. I have spoken with her previously to see how she was doing and all is fine. But with the new DX (diagnosis) she is left on her own. Usually it's my job to care for the spouses but I don't have any exp. with PPD. My DH will talk with her DH to see if she would like to come over and relax, sleep or just have me watch the baby but I can't go to her house because I have a 21mos old. He would just cause more stress for her in a house that's not toddler proofed.
I think I need to talk to her DH to see if she really has ppd or if she is just down and not really expressing herself well enough to the Dr.s
I know we'll have to gather a plan to make sure she is getting enough rest but I was wondering if anyone has had exp. with this or had any ideas.
We live in Italy so groups aren't an option.
Any ideas would be great!
Thanks
Mandy
