Thanks Wendy! I had 3 jars of the Peter Pan brand in my pantry all with that batch number. Luckily none have been opened yet! There is an address and phone # for the refund below:
REFUND INFO To get a refund, consumers should send peanut butter jar lids and their names and addresses to ConAgra Foods
Oh, the panic, lol. I work in a hospital laboratory and last night the guy working microbiology (the department that cultures and identifies bacteria) came walking through the main lab, and what was he carrying? Jars and jars of peanut butter, lol. Apparently anybody whose gotten diarreah within a week of eating peanut butter is freaking out. Or, they have the right serial #, popped some exlax and are hoping for the best, wanting an opportunity to sue. Culturing bacteria from peanut butter (if it will even grow on media after being immersed in peanut oil) should be the job of the health department, not a medical laboratory, but the docs are ordering it to be done anyway. We should be culturing the stool only. Anyway, the micro guy was extremely irritated. Apparently he's cultured dozens of jars, lol.
I also have 2 jars, but they have been opened, and used!
Great, we have GV pb and its from that lot. Almost half the jar has been eaten.

Wow, that is scary!
Your kids can take Peanut butter to school? Most schools here are nut free
