Ok everyone I really need your input because I am starting to loose my mind. I have never been real regular with my cycle but after the birth of my son in 2005 things were better. Still Long around 34 to 35 days but at least somewhat consistant. Then of course my body decided to try a new direction. I got my period about a week before christmas and then it never showed up until Feb 1st. I just figured my body was back to being a little unpreditable. Then I had blood streaks on day 15 only at one moment of the day and then gone. Then it happened again on day 16 once then gone. I have a little brownish color that comes and goes still but thats it. I honestly thought I was getting my period again after only having it 2 weeks prior. Sorry if this is all TMI....... I had all the symptoms of my period coming, some cramping, my face broke out, hungry all the time, bloated..... but it was way to early for that. I am NOT on any birth control due to the fact that we can not have children naturally. Conceived our son with donor sperm. So unless it is by the grace of God being PG is out of the question. Can any one shed some light for me.

Thanks

Julie

Julie ~

I know it's frustrating when cycles are a mess, but there are literally hundreds of reasons why it happens! I would suggest continuing to keep track of things the way you are and schedule an appt with your OB/GYN. It could be anything from diet and/or stress to cysts, fibroids, or hey why not...implantation bleeding!? LOL

Good luck with everything!

PS. Aiden is totallly adorable! =)

Hi Julie -

Both my boys are IVF babies, so I understand where you are coming from about not getting PG "naturally" - that said if DH has ANY sperm it is theoretically possible, but......

You metioned that AF was irregular BEFORE baby it could be that it is just returning to being irregular (but a bit more so). You do not mention your age (and you don't have too), but sometimes even as we approach our 40's we can have hormone shifts that effect the length of our cycles.

Are you breastfeeding? AF can be very unpredictable while you are still BF. I am still BF and only recently have seen AF return and she has been even more irregular than before getting PG.

Do you chart your cycles at all? Charting can help you determine if there is a pattern to any issues you are having. If you are interested in charting I would suggest checking out the iVillage NFP/FAM board the ladies there can be very helpful

My AF was irregular before but just having long cycles and what seemed like skipping from time to time. I am 30 years old and have 2 children - My daughter who is 11 and my son that is turned 2 this week. I was actually an egg donor 4 times before becoming pg with my son. I was a donor to raise the money for our own ivf attempt. I guess I am worried that all the hormones I was on for 4 years may have done something or my body is on shut down or something. Then again it could all just be in my head. My husband and I actually just agreed to try for one more child and were going to start in June so this has me worried because I was always the fertile one. I have not really charted my cycles except for how long inbetween cycles I go. Maybe I should start so I have a handle on my body before our next attempt at getting pregnant. Thank you so much for your input.

Julie
