Do you feel like this is your day? I wanted to be a SAHM so that I could spend time with my little ones, but to keep up with my housework I have to stay on top of it and really I still can't get everything done if I go all day cleaning. How do you all get keep up with the housework and spend time with your kiddos?

Pick a few things everyday you want to get donw. Of course there are things that are daily chores so that is a given. I dust on Fridays, I vacuum on Mondays and Thursday if it needs it again. I pick clutter up daily. I sweep and mop on Tuesdays, Wednesday are days I catch up on things. I may do all my laundry this day instead of some everyday or I do nothing. Today, being Wednesday was a veg morning and this afternoon I have done some of my daily chores and now I am cooking cupcakes for my twins birthday.

Have you heard the story about the man who came home to an immaculate house every night? He said he hated it...it made him wonder if his kids had had any fun all day! LOL.

This story reminds me though...there has to be time for the girls, and there has to be some time in there for me, too. I used to worry so much about friends stopping by and seeing how cluttered and messy the house can get, but then I realized that I wouldn't want to be friends with people who judged me based on that, anyway, kwim?

I have really had to work at letting up about the cleaning. I do a load of clothes every morning, a load of cloth diapers every night, dishes 2-3 times throughout the day, and I pick up toys before nap and after bed. Other than that, I try my best. Some days I accomplish nothing, others I can get the whole house cleaned. It really just depends on me, the girls, and our day!

I am costantly picking up around the house. The laundry is never done.I wash all the clothes in one day but by the end of the day theres a whole new pile waiting to be washed.I start with one room and by the time i'm done with the last one the first one needs to be cleaned again. It's hard to to with a toddler running around all day. There's days where I dont do anything and I hang out with my kids all day or we go and visit with family. I wouldnt have it any other way though. I would miss so much if I was'nt here with my kids.

since i'm fairly new at this sahm business.. i have been thinking the same thing.. but then i realized that my kids are more important than a clean house and if no one likes it then don't come see me...

what i usually do is a load of laundry in the morning and evening before the kids get up and after they go to bed.... then during the day we have quiet hour when Makayla takes her nap... she naps for 1-2 hrs.. during that hour i will dust, dishes, clean bathrooms, sweep, mop, wash windows, vacuum... i do what i can and what needs to be done during that time... the rest of the time i'm spending with my kids and on the computer..

and example of my day..i'll use today...

7am.. throw a load in the washer..when done put in dryer

7:30 kids woke up.. we had breakfast

we went outside, walked to the park for a little bit

came home about 10 and i got on here for a while when they watched a few cartoons..

fixed lunch at 11:30 ate and put Makayla down for a nap.. Dakota settles on the couch with a movie...

during nap i put in another load of laundry, cleaned both bathrooms, did dishes....

after nap we colored, read books

then at 3:30 i started dinner while they played on their own..

once dh comes home i don't do any house work except right before bedtime the kids and i pick
