hi everyone,

i'm new to all of this but feel the need to get ideas. my son is a year old and his
2 lastest tricks are climbing out of his crib. he did that for the first time today, i looked over when i heard a thug and he fell on his face. he seemed ok after crying for a minute of two. my question is what the heck do i do. get a toddler bed right away or take a chance he wont do it again. knowing him, he'll do it again. i just think he's kind of young for a toddler bed. tonight i just waited for him to fall asleep cause i dont think
he'll do it in the night once he's asleep. please any suggestions.
also he knocks the high chair tray off every single time and then he leans. i'm afraid to leave him in that too.

Go to Babies R Us, get a crib tent, and a high chair with a 5 pt harness.

I don't want to upset anyone here but I totally disagree. If your son can climb out of his crib, then he is old enough for a toddlers bed. My son is 16 months old and has been in a toddlers bed for the last six months. The first week or so I had to put up a railing all the way across his bed, but he learned very quickly to sleep away from the open side of the bed. Now he loves the idea that he is a big boy and he can get in and out of his bed like everyone else in the family. O and if you are going to spend $60 on a crib tent...why not just turn around and spend the $60 on a toddlers bed.
The highchair problem...go buy a booster set and put him at the table. My son kept crawling out of his highchair so one night I had enough of him not staying in his set and I put him in my 2 1/2yr olds booster seat and now that is where he sits for all of his meals.

thank you for the info and picture. i will try that. i just hope one will fit the crib cause its sort of a sleigh crib. its not solid wood where it curves for the sleigh part, its open but curves a bit. so i'll have to see. thank you again
