Enjoy your time home with your baby. My baby is now 4 and starting preschool Wednesday. I'm quite sad to see him go from my days at home.

I know, I remember when my older DS was the same age as my 3 month old and now he is in 2nd grade. I remember 2nd grade....blows my mind. I am totally excited to be able to spend one on one time with my baby cuz I know this time will fly...

I've got to be honest, I've LOVED having my DSD this summer, as she has been able to get to know her new brother. However, driving 1.5 hours round trip these last several days to get her to her volleyball practice at school is tough (she lives quite a distance from us). When she goes back to her mom's house, I almost feel guilty that I'm looking forward to one on one time with my new son. However, I recently told myself that ALL parents look forward to the school year - and it doesn't mean they love their kids any less!
Thanks for being another reminder that I'm not a mean, selfish and wicked stepmom! ;)

Oh yes, I remember when my oldest was 3 months old too. Now he's in the 4th grade and about to turn 10. With my girls it's different, they were adorable as babies but so much work. Now they can do things for each other or for themselves. But, them being my babies they are in 2nd grade and that is hard to swallow. They grow so fast.

There is a cartoon in this month's Good Housekeeping where one mom is saying to another: "My favorite thing about being a stay at home mom is when school starts." I know they were trying to be ironic, but OH, how I could relate to that sentiment!!!

I still have exactly one week until school starts here.

Coming in late but school started on the 27th for my girls,too.....They were more excited than I. I'm overwhelmed by this school size (compared to where we moved from) and a bit intimidated by some of the few moms in this area, too. Stepford, anyone? The teachers are nice but I can already see Gabbie's 3rd grade teacher being a bit testy. Everytime I tried to speak to her,she looked distracted and frazzled. Ellie's 4th grade teacher is a gem.......Daniel starts preK at the catholic preschool next week. I'll resume very, very part time swim lessons at the Y,too. Swim lessons continue through October.
