So all summer the kids have wanted me to run through the sprinkler w/ them, and I've come to discover that I am VERY out of shape. And Jack is now 2 months old, so my usual excuses (I'm pregnant, I just had a C-section, I'm lazy) won't really work anymore. Aside from playing w/ the kids more and walking one night a week w/ a friend, I would like to start doing a workout video. Does anyone know of one that the kids might be interested in "doing" w/ me? This is keeping in mind that they are 2 and 3, but they LOVE marching/running/etc. around the living room.

Thanks!!

Jamie

What about Tae-boe (sp?) In the video I have there are actual kids doing it. Maybe it would help motivate them?

Those are all good suggestions, thanks! I guess I just really need to get motivated enough to do something. We do have a track that goes around a park close by. I just wonder if the kids would stay on it and not run too far away from me. Maybe I could reward them staying w/ me by letting them play on the playground afterwards. Now I need to make the time to do this stuff...

I have three kids 9, almost 3 and 16 months. I try to walk around my neighborhood for about 30 minutes every night after supper. I sometimes put my almost 3yr old in her harnis that looks like a dog/backpack, in the stroller or I just let her run. My 16 month old I put in a stroller. When I don't go walking with the kids, I try to take them swimming. I also dance with the radio while I do house work. It make the house work more fun and the kids get a kick out of me.

I love my "Shrink Your Female Fat Zones" DVD (Denise Austin), but probably wouldn't appeal to little kids.... I remember it being super hard to really "work out" when the kids were little. I'm in much better shape now that they are older. I get up and run 2 miles 3x a week before they get up, and I do that DVD and/or go to Pilates class on the other days. But back when they were toddlers -- pushing the stroller around the block was about the most exercise I got.
