Okay, that is all of you but I wanted more mom opinions about my son.

I would recommend that ANY time a child has fevers and chills with neck pain they take them to the doctor. Although it's extremely unlikely, it could be meningitis. Espeicially if it hurts to put the chin to the chest. I would also say that if you can get them into the doctor rather than the ER you are better off, because the ER will automatically do a spinal tap with those symtoms, whereas the doc may be better able to triage. If he gets to the point where he's nonresponsive, delirous, in really intense pain, or has an extremely high fever, or you can't get into the doctor that day, take him to the ER.


Sorry, I don't mean to scare you. It's probably no such thing, but you can't be too careful. I work in a hospital laboratory and actually do the cell counts on blood and spinal fluid, so that's my background.
