Here's some fantastic news I got this morning. I went to my orthotist this morning to get the new brace he made me for my right foot. It's hard white plastic with a bit of padding inside, it fits inside my shoe and comes up over my ankle a bit, fastens with velcro across the front. I'll be wearing this for a half hour to an hour twice a day and then building up to more time from there. Here's the fantastic part I just found out about, didn't realize this when I'd been to my orthopedic doctor who prescribed this...after wearing this for around nine months or maybe even less time than that, it will have reconstructed my foot to where I'll only need an orthodic in my shoe after that and I won't have anymore pain and I'll be able to walk with better stability. In other words, I will NOT need surgery on that foot!! Amazing!! I can have surgery still if I choose to, but may not need it.
Next Wednesday I'll be having extensive reconstruction surgery on my left foot. That foot is way too bad to be helped by a brace. I'll only be in the hospital for two days, but after that I'll be in a brace for two weeks til the swelling goes down and the stitches come out, then I'll be in a cast up to just below my knee for four more weeks, then I'll be in another type of cast, then finally in a tall walking boot brace. All total it should take three months for all the bracing and casting, then another three months for it to totally heal. I won't be able to step down on it at all, so I'll be hopping about using a walker and wheelchair. No big deal, just an inconvenience with great rewards at the end.
My prayer request is that there be enough blood flow in my foot for it to heal properly. It will be my left foot. Please keep me in your prayers through this little blip in my life. Thank you dear friends.
I've been busy getting loose ends tied up before this surgery. Got Shelby groomed this morning, got my nails done and only buffed, can't wear tinted polish during surgery. Went to Weight Watchers for the last time til I'm out of casts. My carpet was cleaned yesterday and it looks great! He did an amazing job getting up all the grandkids spots from eating in my living room. Now I need to get washable throw rugs to put down so they can still enjoy eating in my living room. Today and tomorrow I'll be putting my house back in order from picking up everything that sat on my floor for the carpet cleaning man. Geez, my arms and shoulders are sore from all that work. I'm such a wimp!! LOL!! I had to sleep in my guest room last night because my bed has so much stuff piled on it. I was amazed at how much stuff sat on my floors. I thought it would only be a few baskets and plants. Whew, it was a lot more than that!!
Will take a quick peek at the board now and then I must be getting back to work. They moved Leahmarie to a nursing home yesterday til she's strong enough to move into her new assisted living apartment. I hope and pray that she sees that day. I need to get over and see her later today and of course it's waaaayyyy over the other side of town and beyond.
Hope you're all doing well and feeling good. See you again later sometime...Hugs, Susie

Don't worry about me being away from the computer. It won't be long, will only be in the hospital two days and when I get home I'll head for the computer that very day. As long as I can get to the bathroom and my computer, I'll do all right..LOL!!
...Thank you for the hugs and prayers, Susie
