I am going to get to the bottom of organizing and getting rid of stuff that has no value, not even sentimental. My room needs to be redecorated, and the only way to get to it is to get rid of stuff that I will never use again. I mean the IRS only requires that we keep stuff for seven years.

Plus, I do have to work at my job, I think. So far the file cache is empty, but that just means that someone else must be late for work.

Prayers for everyone, especially if you are facing unusual challenges.

I will be back to check on you later.

Good luck with the clearing out of stuff. I know what you mean. I recently got rid of a box of receipts from the utility companies from the past 15 years, just in case they disputed a payment(lol). Two years ago I called the phone company about something that happened three years ago. They told me they don't keep their records that long, so why should I. I got a shreader and that helps a lot. Once it goes through, there's no saying to myself, "maybe I should keep that one".

The sun is coming out here. I hope it is by you. Kathey

Oh, Dannie, you and me, too! What a great opening sentence to your post, maybe I should print it out and put it on my mirror so I see it every morning! You sound so determined. Hope you have had a productive day. I just finished posting to Pab about how she got me going yesterday with her "mission" talk. It must be the time of year that gives us all a push to attack the house. Well, except for people like Francine who manage to keep their lives and homes organized...As well as organizing my house, I need to "get on top of" my office sometime soon. I pull it all together each year after tax time, and try to keep it in good shape til the next tax time, then start the cycle over again. I know I keep records too long, but I'm so leery of throwing something out and then being audited. <> LOL Have you told us what you have planned for your bedroom redo? I might have missed it and I'm curious! Good luck! Seren

Good luck on your venture today....

I have been after DH to "Honey, let's get rid of some of this stuff we haven't seen in 20 or so years." "OK" he says. I dig stuff out and look at him and he says...." Well, I only used that onece" or " that is brand new." And so it goes and finally he will say..."OH! Just go ahead a through it out it is just mine anyway." Never mind the 3 boxes and 4 garbage bags of my stuff that is going out compaired to the 2 things he did put in the bag of his...OOOOO Men.....So, he will walk out and I will put it back in boxes and put them back in the corner for the next 5 years.....I know, some day I am going to be too old to pull those boxes out to get rid of them...but what am I supposed to do. He did the other day toss out 3 socks that were all stretched and had holes. OOO yes and that one T shirt that you could see through that some how came out of the wash with a big tear in it....I for the life of me can't figure that one out.....lol.....

I still think that I could get rid of stuff and he would never know but you know what? I could just hear him say.....remember that box of stuff we looked at the other day...good thing we didn't through that out I need something in there.....now that would be hard to explain...Yes it was the gremlins right???;p Janet

Oh don't get me started on men! My late DH,was a "collector". He would go to every roadside flea market in the Atlanta area, and he would buy the most useless junk! I still have not gotten around to going through all of his stuff, which is boxed up in the basement. Right now I can only handle mine and the girls. They are budding pack rats, too. I am going to have to buy a house with room enough for our "treasures". LOL.

Yeeeesh!

Now Miss Dannie. It seems to me you have been talking about doing that for quite some time now. If it will help you, I'll send DH over and he will throw EVERYTHING out. Everything of yours, that is. He hates to throw anything of his out. lol

Dannie, we are doing the same here. It is truly unbelievable how much junk one collects. Clothes that no longer fit (and never will again), clothes they no longer wear, shoes, etc. I have finally gotten to the point that if it hasn't been worn for 10 years, out it goes. lololol

I think we could save a lot more money if I would just stop buying stuff.

Let me know if you want DH. I'll pay YOU!! lol

Janet, you crack me up!! I truly believe you missed your calling. You see things as they really are and can see humor in life's situations. I wish you were my neighbor.

Great cleaning out clutter? That would be no! I have gotten quite a bit sorted out, but I still have quite a bit to go. This is such a boring project!

Well, I need to go back to bed. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
