The surgery took 3 1/2 hours...about 1 1/2 hours longer than planned. They totally reconstructed her left foot, extended the achilles tendon, and found some fused bones which they had to break. They didn't put any plates in but she does have some screws in there now. They had her up already with a walker and hopping around the room on her right foot. They were in the process of changing her over to the oral meds from the I.V. so she was eating some graham crackers to quell the upset stomach.
All in all she's doing great. She said she looked at the ceiling of the O.R. for Ladybugs and was pretty sure she saw a few. I told her there were more than a few of us with her yesterday. She'll be going home tomorrow (Fri.) and am sure she'll check in here as soon as she can.
Just thought I'd bring you up to date as far as I know.
I'm so glad Frannie is home and able to eat now! That's wonderful.

How is your mom and what became of her friend's daughter and the poison?
It's kind of late for you, isn't it. Kathey
Her friend's daughter was retested after not eating fish for a couple of weeks and there was no trace of the arsenic. So they are thinking that was the culprit. Strange huh?
Yes, it's veeeeerrrrrry late for me....I've got to sign off and jump in bed right now!
Talk to you soon.
