I got home from the hospital around 7:30ish. My DD1 & family stayed and got me dinner and moved some things around in my house to make navigating about a bit easier. Susie's driving a wheelchair now..Look out!! Crrrash!! LOL!! I'm going to have all my furniture banged up trying to get around here. It wants to zig when I want to zag!!

My foot hurts lots, tried different types and combinations of pain killers and Percoset seems to be the most comforting along with a muscle relaxant. My DD1 and Allison are spending the night with me just in case I need help of any kind during the night time.

It hurts!! It doggoned hurts!! Dang it..It Hurts!! Ouch!! Grumble, groan, and stuff like that!!

There, I've always been told that it's better to get your feelings out..LOL!!

Hope you've all been doing well, I won't be posting a lot in these next few weeks. It's just too hard to sit here and type. Will check in as I normally do though. Hope you've all been doing well, staying healthy, happy as little larks or Bugs, and doing whatever makes you smile.

The worst part of this is that all my inner theigh, stomach, and shoulder muscles are *very* sore from the way I have to move around now. Now I need to start lifting my hand weights and try to strengthen them. Does it ever end??!! LOL!!

When I got into the operating room, the doctor came in right after me, they put the knock out juice in me, and I was in la la land. Didn't get a chance to tell him to look up at all the ladybugs flying around. ;o) You did good Ladybugs, everything looks good at this point. Thank you for being there with me.

Okay dearies, time to put this Bug to bed. Will see you tomorrow.....Love, Susie

Hugs,

..

So glad you're home and the surgery did go well, but sorry you're so uncomfortable. Prayers you heal without any complications and will find that right combination of meds to help you feel less pain....Much love....TJ

Good Morning, Susie

I was away in body when you had surgery but I was with you in spirit. Perhaps I was one of those bugs flying around. ;-)

Nosey-nell here with a zillion questions!

How long will you have to use a wheel chair? Is the amount of pain you are experiencing normal for the type of surgery you had? Would it help to elevate your legs when you sit and type? Will you need PT? If yes, is there a target date to start? How long is your recovery period? Will you ever be able to use a walking cast or device and crutches? Perhaps a cane?

I guess my knee surgery was easy compared to what you are going through. I took one Percoset and then dumped the entire bottle in favor of Advil. And I had my first PT to learn to use crutches within two hours of surgery. Talk about saying ... Here's your hat. What's your hurry? LOL!

Prayers for a rapid recovery have been said and will continue. Feel better soon!

F.

Susie- please, please, please take very good care of yourself. Let the others do for you. Call doctor if any little thing comes up. Groaning is good as is screaming. The Japanese feel it speeds up the healing process. Exercise has to be gradual, and the therapist first does hand manipulation before any weights or machines. But, you probably won't start physical therapy until after the cast is removed. Francine seems to have done it the right way, where as my DF wanted to prove she could be about in just six weeks. So, she got on the exercise bycicle seven weeks after the surgery. At times I still get angry with her even though she is not here.

Lots of positive thoughts and prayers going out to you. Don't be angry if I sound preachy, but I do want to meet you at the gathering.
