It is an absolutely glorious day here today though a little cool in the shade. Been puttering outside a little waiting for DH to wake up from his nap on the couch to fix the tire on the mower so I can mow the lawn if not today then tomorrow. How he can waste such lovely weather sleeping on the couch is beyond me, but I have never been one for naps unless I am sick.

Went to town yesterday and hung out with DD and did a little mall looking while DH checked on the stores. Had another meeting with architect and contractor at 9am yesterday. Costs are still so high and we have cut them 1/2. I feel that we should just refirbish (is that a word?) and freshen things now rather than the full scale remodel that DH envisioned. The plans are beautiful and would add great value to our home (and our taxes, which are high enough all ready!) but I really would rather spend our money on other things like travel at this time in our lives. DH says he will never sell this house so.....To be honest I'm getting tired of the whole thing!!

Okay, that's enough complaining from me! I'm off to walk with Anna and commune with nature(so calming to my soul) after I take a quick trip through the board.

Have a good day! KaCee P.S. Gosh, reading back over this post I'm embarassed. Can I get a little cheese with that whine please! LOL! Sorry about that, am tempted to erase the whole thing but that would be dishonest. Looking for that walk to refresh me and maybe Dee will lend me her angels. KC

HI KaCee, glad you are having such fabulous weather up in God's Country! Here it is a beautiful day, but hot!! not July-August-September hot, but still plenty warm. I was just reading in the newspaper about the Tacome police chief shooting his wife and then killing himself. I guess there were children but there was no mention of whether they were very young or older. Seems like something else happened up in your area the other day that made the news and I wanted to ask you about it, but now I've forgotten. No, it wasn't your earthquake. Anytime I see Seattle or Tacoma or that area mentioned, I always read the news. Debating between refurbishing or remodeling bigtime provokes major anxiety in our house as well. DH tends to think, as yours may, that we should just tear out the walls and go from there. I tend to think slowly, carefully, a little change here and there will be good and freshen everything up just fine. I'm more cautious about money anyway. There's no telling where our daughters will end up living, and I want to be able to visit them. When we were younger, and free of responsibility, we loved travel, in fact that's how we met. And the economy scares me. So, now, as if you weren't tired enough of your whole remodeling situation, I think I just complained about it, too, and what a downer that is...sorry! LOL Well, maybe Anna and Mother Nature have made you feel more peaceful! Did your DH finally wake up? Maybe he can take you out to dinner, that sounds good to me! Seren

Hi Seren, I'm in a better mood now in spite of being exhausted from yard work. It is a satisfying kind of tired. Thanks for reading my rant. LOL! Yes, that was a sad situation in Tacoma. The kids were 8 and 5 according to the news I heard. I haven't read todays paper yet. Goodness, that was in your paper? DH did finally wake up and he did offer dinner but I had all ready put baked spaghetti in the oven and besides I was so dirty from yard work I couldn't be seen out in public! Just gonna shower and put some sweats on. Have a good evening. KaCee

Poof!!! I'm gone!!

You didn't sound whiney at all, Kacee, and even if you did, that's what friends are for, to listen to your happy stories, as well as your whines! Heaven knows I've done my share of whining here.

Whatever you decide, remodel or refurbish, it will be the right decision. I have to agree, I think you should save some of that money you had planned to spend on remodeling and spend it on TRAVEL!!! Yep, I surely do think that, yep, yep, yep...:-)...Love, BB
