bit stressful here today. I opened the Sunday paper and in the local section read that our former next door neighbor died this last week. We moved closer into the center of town about 10 years ago, but he was our neighbor for 14 years. He and his wife were so good to us, and were like dear grandparents to our girls. Their own children and grandchildren lived far away, so they treated our children with a special loving relationship. The girls still go to their house each Christmas for a hot cocoa and cooky party, just for the 4 of them. It happened suddenly, but we were able to go to the funeral today, and I'm just glad it wasn't several weeks until we learned of his death.

Then DH and I have also purchased the paint for our "new" bedroom. And he is so set to go, wants to pull the furniture out and get on with it. But, guess who slept on her shoulder wrong and can't seem to lift her arm?? When I woke up I thought it was nothing and would go away, but when I reached up to get some little paint sample cards, it wouldn't work, that is, the shoulder really hurt, and the arm didn't want to go up so high. Can't imagine what I have done in my sleep. I've hurt my shoulder before when I was exercising, but this seems pretty silly. So DH went back to his office to get some work done there.

Haven't heard anything yet from DD2 who has been in Ireland the last few days. Don't know if she returns today or tomorrow. She has no classes for another week or so. Then it's exams for her. DD1 begins her exams this Thursday. She called to say she had spoken with her friend in Italy who is being so helpful in finding her a place to live this summer while she is working there. She wants a room in an apartment shared with other students, and it shouldn't be too difficult as so many will be leaving town at different times for their school breaks. But she surely is grateful to have someone there locally to scout things out.

Haven't mapped out dinner plans as yet, and it is 5:00. Hmmmm. How much sympathy can I count on here with my bad arm??? Maybe I should get my act together and get into the kitchen. I know we have some tofu, fresh sugar snaps...some fresh ginger, garlic...a plan is slowly forming. Maybe I should run it by DH. He doesn't care for stir fry so maybe he will make me a counter offer?? Yes, sometimes I am a little bit devious..LOL

Hope you all have had a pleasant weekend, especially those who are dealing with troubles and may be in pain (Susie?). Take care. Seren

Sorry about your neighbor friend. It must be like losing a a close friend or relative.

I wasn't going to make anything for dinner---we have stuff for salad and sandwiches---so DH turns on the oven to make a pizza; it's 75º outside and at least 85ºinside. I need a new a/c. The old one cools but only after it's been on for an hour.

Get some rest. I'm ready for ZZZs. Kathey

Hi Kathey! The tofu did the old boy in, he went out and brought us in some Chinese!! I'm trying to do the WW plan, so I had about 7 shrimp and seemed like buckets of snow peas...I worked harder to chew those than there were calories in them to fuel the chewing, know what I mean?? But no cooking for me tonight! Still got that tofu in there though...it's a threat that is always hanging over DH's head...LOL

Get yourself a new air conditioner before summer sets in. How hot does it get up where you are? ZZZZZZs sound good to me right now, too. See you tomorrow. Seren

My son, a meat and potatos man, married a vegetarian. She uses tofu a lot. He has gotten used to most of it but when he's at my house, raids the fridge for a hamburger or pork chop.

Anything over 65º is too hot for me. Our hot spell in July or August should be in the 80s to 90s. This time of year the 60s is the norm.

I never did get to sleep. I am watching the Hallmark movie "A Painted House". I love their commercials. Kathey
