today while DDIL and a friend went to the local beauty school here in town. Felt very nervous! I haven't taken care of a baby since my daughter was a baby!! Everything went fairly well, until DGD woke from a nap, defintely wanted to be fed....(DDIL nurses but pumps enough breast milk for a feeding)..NOW! This was a second bottle, evidently midafternoon is her feeding frenzy. Well, she choked! Talk about a panic attack. She recovered, but Grandmother was just about done in. She responds to your voice and smiles....No, it's not gas...she definitely responds! I'm in love and isn't it kind of funny..but for the first time in many months...DH was here just in time to hold her for a little while...earliest he's been home since I can't remember when.

I'm going to go take a long hot soaking bath..like I said..I'm exhausted! But so happy!

How lucky you were today; and your DH too that he came home early. The next time will be easier. Yes, babies do know the voices of family. Kathey

How old is that sweet little baby? Isn't it amazing how tiring taking care of a baby is...and to think how much for granted we took it when our kids were babies. Of course, we were a lot younger.

I don't know how my sister does it....she is 75 and has been the primary care giver for her granddaugher since birth....Sky is now four and a half.

I am smiling when I read this. Before long, you will be stopping yourself from telling Mom how to do things. Now that is hard. : )

So happy to see that you are enjoying that new GD and evidently she knows who her favorite person is already.

She's a very smart little girl, lots of more wonderful times ahead.
