Here in Western Wisconsin the weather has been wonderful. We got some rain lots actually and it was welcome as everything has greened up nicely. That has relieved fire danger greatly. The trees are budding and soon we will be seeing blossoms. Only 28 more school days left for the kids and more importantly Drew. I have just come to realize that DS#1 started kindergarten 37 years ago. That means that we have been sending kids to school for 37 years. Is that some sort of a record? It sure will seem funny not having a kid in school but then we are so involved with the grands probably won't notice.
Drew spent most of the school year completing a couple of necessary credits and working in the afternoon for his brother. Since he had taken all the shop classes that the school had to offer he was allowed to create his own class so to speak. It is called independent study and he spent the time building a boat,a 14 foot wooden boat and it is finished and ready for launch on Sunday. We are planning a little ceremony with friends and family. I sure hope it doesn't sink. It is a beauty, he has named Dragonfly. I will send KT some pix for photoisland. We are scheduling a graduation open house/dance for mid June.
My video camera broke a year or so ago and so for the occaision we purchased a new digital video camcorder. Our first one (This one is #4)we got when Drew was a baby was gigantic. It weighed about 10 pounds. This one fits in the palm of my hand and is compatable with my pc. I am getting almost as good as KT and Janet. I actully figured out how to hook the camera up to my pc through ilink and upload video (from tape) to my pc, edit, and save it. Woo Woo. Why do I want to do this? I don't know but I'll think of something. I have spent most of the evening reading over the help sections and learning the programs and my head feels crammed so I am taking a break. Can't learn everything in one day.
DD and family are getting nicely settled in their new home and I can't wait for the pool to be opened. Yippee Skippy! If the weather holds nice we will try to get the ponds ready for summer and fish. If not there is lots of time yet. The downstairs bath and office are moving at a snails pace but at least all the dirty dust causing work is done and it is just finishing left to do.
Have been enjoying having both Hockey and Basketball teams in the playoffs the last couple of weeks even though some of the games have been nail bitters. The Twins are not exactly living up to expectations so nice to have a diversion. Go Wild! Go Timberwolves! Go Twins. Yeaaaaaah!Minnesota.
Well that is all the news from Contraryville. See you all in the garden soon. MM

Yes, please show us Drew's boat. Wow, that's exciting! Will keep my fingers crossed that it has no problems staying afloat on Saturday. I'm sure all will go smoothly.
37 years? Yes, that has got to be a record or at least close. Gracious.....
It's always exciting (even for me!) when you start getting your ponds ready for the summer. I would love to see them for real someday.
Well, stay in touch, sweet MM. See you later! Now, get back to your new toy (camcorder). Nice!...BB
Have a restful night.
Hugs...Pab
