It's so nice here in NJ. Took a walk at lunch and hated to go back to work. Two more days and I will be giving notice. Hopefully, I'll be done work May 30th. Then I can enjoy my Summer (which I don't really like), Fall and Holidays. Then I'll figure out where I'm going from there.

I have a cousin who lives in Putnamville, VT. She makes and teaches how to do "bobbin lace". You can see her work at www.finethreads-vermontlace.com. This woman is 56 years old. When she lived in NJ she had 3 boys. Was a seamstress from her home. Had a part-time job (only till she got enough money to buy a new car). Baked her own bread and heated their home with a wood stove that she cooked on. Got up at 5am in the morning to get her husband off to work. Then she would sew until the boys got up for school. Get them off and go back to sewing. She made cheerleading uniforms for Glassboro State (Rowan) College. If anyone is from the Philly area. There was a restaurant called the "76" which featured the waitresses in Colonial dresses. She made them. I told her just hearing what she did on a daily basis made me tired. I don't have that kind of energy. Saw her the other day and she looks the same!!. 30 odd years and she hasn't gotten any older. Hate her. :)

Well, buy for now.

Hi Jo Ann! I just visited the site of your cousin! and ordered a catalog! I never heard of this craft before! I love lace and am interested in learning! She does sound like one of those pioneer ladies, dosn't she? and she must have loved doing it! I have a book of all types of sewing imanginable in it, so I will look and see if that is listed!

You can allways come here and visit us other bugs, this summer! Hugs SusieK
