i think i have managed to tell all the family about our new little one. when we left the doctor's office yesterday i was grinning from ear to ear. melissa said to me you are just tickled that the baby is a boy. i told her i would have had the same reaction if the baby had been a girl. i am just thrilled that both of them are doing ok.

we went out to eat after the visit and then shopping. yes, kt, it's nice knowing in advance because i bought a little boy's outfit and a little boy's toy yesterday. we had a ball looking at all the baby things.

then we went back to her house and watched "maid in manhattan". i hadn't seen it yet.

after we got home i posted, wrote a couple of email and then went to bed.

today will not be as eventful, that's for sure.

hope you all have a great day,

ellen

Good morning grandma-to-be. I guess I will buy yellow until DD1 knows what she is having (which sex, I mean. She knows it's a baby (lol)). She has decided not to have the ultra sound but it seems to be normal procedure with most pregnancies these days so her doctor might find a reason to do one.

Wishing you sunshine. Kathey

Ellen, today does not have to be as "eventful". You can feed off that information for weeks!! lol

I understand what you said about feeling so good about the news. It is not so much that it is a boy, it is more like, "now it is for real". You knew there was going to be another grand, but now you "really" know. Do you know what I am trying to say? Sometimes I go on and on.

Good Morning, Ellen

Even if today is totally uneventful, the joys of yesterday will make it grand!

Enjoy your many blessings!

kathey,

if your dd's doctor is like mine, then yes she will probably have one. they do it now to make sure all is progressing well with the baby's heart and spine and they measure the baby to make sure it is growing at a normal rate.

however, if your dd does not want to know the sex of the baby they will keep it to themselves. mine really wanted to know.

'Tis a very good procedure to have done - at least once! And if she doesn't want to know what sex the baby is she can simply ask to not be told!! Most of the time is is obvious only if one knows exactly where to look and what to look for! Not that we couldn't find the little "indicator" in real life, but on the sonogram is it not so easy to spot! Of course the newer sonogram pictures are a whole lot clearer than those of just a few years ago!

I can 'hear' the excitement growing in both of you gals already!!!

Ah, now that you have 'seen' that precious wee one and watched it move around, it is so much more 'real' is it not?!! How could you possibly not be excited?!! Now each time you go into a store you will find yourself overwhelmingly drawn to the baby aisles to "just look at" what is available!

Enjoy it!!
