It's rainy and cool but who cares! ;-) Our plans for the day are all-weather plans ... and involve mostly work.

My DH is off today and we're meeting with our landscape service today to decide what trees need removing. We live on a few acres of land and some of the trees are very tall and dangerously close to the house. It's time to eliminate a few so smaller trees won't have to compete for sunshine.

My very long term goal is to create a woodland garden with several paths leading to a gazebo in the middle of our woods. That goal always seems to be put on hold as we plan another trip or redecorate the interior of our home. Oh! Well! A garden like that could only be enjoyed a few months a year whereas interior projects are enjoyed year 'round.

Tonight my DH is shampooing the family room carpet. It takes a lot of abuse with two pups so he does it every two or three months.

The hours in between will be spent just hanging out. We may go off shopping for new furniture for the office/computer/craft room ... or we may not. It's a no-plans day right now.

Well, I actually have a few extra minutes until *Tree Man* arrives so I'm off to read and reply.

Have a great day, Everyone.

F.

My goodness Francine, you even have your 'no plans' day planned out. Your garden-on-hold makes me think of the gazzebo scene from Julie Andrews' movie. I'm having a senior moment right now and can't think of the title about the Van Trapp family. Kathey

Oh, I'm jealous! A woodland garden ... I want something like that. A place where I can go & sit at the end of the day or before the sun comes up. Oh well, maybe some day. Right now I'll be happy with the lilac bushes/trees I told dh I wanted. He will have work to do on the back yard ... some spots are just dirt that is so dry and cracked. The sprinklers don't work and the yard needs trees or bushes to give it shade. Will get that done eventually. DH doesn't want to stay there forever but I know how it is ... time just slips away and before you know it, you've been someplace for years. I can't believe we've been here in CA a year in July! Just doesn't seem possible. LOL

No landscaping today ... just estimates. They are booking tree removal projects three to four weeks from now so it will be a while.

And great news, Wren. The sun is shining now and there's a warm breeze!

My DH just went off to buy rug shampoo. Exciting, huh? LOL!

Have a good afternoon.

Francine, YOU sure will have a nice clean carpet when he get it all done... Will you be out walking while he does it or will you help??... Good Luck on the carpet...

Sometimes those tree people need time to schedule the removals... wren

With the sun out It sure will help dry the carpets inside...

Thanks Pab. I could picture Julie Andrews on that hilltop with her arms stretched out singing, "The Hills are Alive..." but couldn't come up with the name.
