Thanks for your concern re my health & state of mind during this move...KT, Fran, I'm doing better. Kathy my DD has a laptop that I think will come in Handy while we travel to OH. With 2 cats, no less. DH is worried more about them than about anything else. Hope thanks for caring & we have to be out of this house on May 23. Then 2 days at DDs place & then drive on the holiday w/end...oh yeah...aren't we lucky... to Ohio. Then into the new place on the 28th. Furniture on the 29th & we will be home!! It is an adventure!

Pab, I'm so glad that your DF did so well after surgery. He will probably recover quickly.

Sharin, hope you mom gets some answers soon. It's the waiting that's a chore.

Well next w/end is the garage sale. Yippee. Maybe DH will part with a few things. One can only hope!! LOL. Still packing. Remember, I downsized 4+ yrs. ago to move here & I could downsize again. Where do we get all this stuff? L Be safe everyone, maybe later..dee

Dee- you mentioned the magic words- garage sale. Now, all I have to do is keep myself from crossing the Hudson , and going out there and bringing lots of things back. That's how I accumulate. Glad it is all working out for you. What are you doing for Mother's Day?

Ah! The eternal question! Where does it all come from? How can we do the 27-Fling Boogie so many times and still have *stuff* remaining to accessorize another life?

Good Morning, Dee

My theory is ... Inanimate objects have found a way to breed. ;-0 LOL!

When we moved 18 years ago, we moved to a larger home with more storage but we still made a conscious effort not to move anything we hadn't used in years or items we would never use again. In particular we donated tons of toys. Our DD was about 13 when we moved and we still had lots of toys and games in storage.

We left curtains and draperies ... even area rugs that had been purchased to coordinate with wallcoverings and paint. It made the new owners happy and gave us one less thing to worry about.

I hope you can get the carpets cleaned. If you don't think they'll be quite dry, ask the carpet cleaners to give you small plastic rounds to place under furniture legs to protect the finish. We had to do that once years ago. They work well and are easy to slip out when the carpet is dry.

Good luck with your yard sale and your move and all those good things! May 23rd! T-20 days and counting!

Many blessings, Dee.

F.
