ing sort of Saturday here. Eventful in that we were awakened at 7:30 am by someone selling either a credit card or a phone plan...Our day to sleep in, don't ya know..So when the phone rang again shortly thereafter, I was ready to be all grumpy, but DH answered it and it was our DD2 calling from London! She's studying for 2 exams next week, and, let's face it, she got so bored studying that she called the old folks at home...But we were very happy and had a great time chatting away about summer plans and bad things Maggie Dog has done and so on. Felt like we got to get caught up with each other's lives. Her BF is coming for a visit for the month of July as I'm sure I've mentioned here (I forget who I've told what to, so forget the wandering repeats, please!) and she is preparing him for our very casual lifestyle. From what I understand, he's a stereotypical Englishboy, reserved, polite, wears buttondown collars and long pants and shoes at all times (as opposed to tshirts, shorts, sandals in hot weather, maybe barefoot inside the house), you get the picture. Well, what can I say? While we do know how to behave *in public*, and we cover ourselves adequately, and are polite I believe..., we are not reserved to say the least. DD actually considers herself to be painfully shy, but that's in her own mind; no one else sees her that way. It's going to be such a cultural shock for him! He is really excited about coming, and I asked her why he isn't more nervous about meeting us (especially since I know she has told him every funny story about us that she can remember....and her memory is too sharp by far!!). She says he is tired of what he perceives as stuffiness, and is looking forward to seeing if he can relax and be *laid back*!! Oh, this is going to be fun!

Later DD2 called to let us know she survived her second exam; it was at 8 this morning. Think it was International Business Transactions or Sales or something equally fascinating...ugh. Well, to some people it is fascinating, bless them! She had lunch with a friend, and had gone on home and was tumbling into bed to try to catch up on some sleep. She said she felt like the snake who has just swallowed a big egg, and she was crawling into her snug den to digest her food while she hibernates....hmmmm..must have been a large lunch! She has one more exam next week, then heads to the beach for a couple of days with some girlfriends. Then it's home for a few days before she heads off for her summer job. She will meet up with DD2 in London for a long weekend, and get to meet the dear BF.

Speaking of which, I know I mentioned to BB but don't know if I've told you here: Since I'm going to the Annual International Bugfest this September, I talked DH into joining the 2 DDs for their long weekend together at the end of this month! It's just too difficult for both of us to leave the business at the same time, so we end up doing very little travelling. I feel guilty leaving him at home working so hard while I enjoy the good life. But this way, we each get a special trip. They are going to rent a car and head out in search of old castles and abbey ruins in Wales, and look for the best fish and chips in the land. Seriously, we do things like that...go on a major search for the best fish and chips, or the best chimichangas, or whatever food strikes our fancy. Anyway, it should be a great time for them while I hold down the fort. Then I will feel guilt-free next September. I've made all the arrangements for his trip, if I can just figure out the luggage situation, since he needs to take along an empty bag to leave for DD, and then bring a bag she will have already filled with her winter things and accumulated books or whatever. I think it's nice to divide up the parents sometimes on outings, and also the DDs. The *chemistry* is always different with different family groupings. The girls dote on the Dad and take such care of him, and he does the same for them, in an entirely different way than the girls and I interact.

Then as DH passed through the living room, he noticed that DDog Maggie had pooped in there!!!! What in heaven's name was that about??? Well, he called her in there, and she just stuck her head in with her ears down, rolled over onto her back, and wouldn't come to him. So he was very stern and told her he was disappointed in her behavior, then immediately got the carpet cleaner in there and shampooed the carpet while I was making lunch!! Lovely! That made more of an impression on the wayward Maggie than anything he could have said, as she is so afraid of the vacuum or the carpet shampoo-er, and I got a clean carpet out of it!! He only did the middle of the room, but hey, I didn't have to do it!!

So there went the morning. Once again, the excitement around this place is awesome, isn't it?? LOL Hope everyone is having a decent to wonderful weekend. Shari feeling better as the day goes on, BB lounging poolside, Ellen's goats re-fenced in, those going to yard sales or planning yard sales, good luck. I'm doing the 27 thing flingie, or whatever it is. I'm going through the house filling garbage bags and flinging them. I'm finding ancient match books, hair clasps, old makeup, bed room slippers no longer in service...*stuff*!!! Talk to you guys later. Seren

I was getting ready to head over to Lanie's for excitement but reading you post is enough festivity for one day. It's a beautiful day here, too. I went to the store and had to walk from the far end of the parking lot--that takes care of my excise. Just before I came here, I played a zillion games on the computer and am watching "Weekend at Bernies"; how's that for thrills. I need a nap now. Kathey

Yeah, that Lanie has an exciting life going on, but don't forget to stay tuned to Ellen for her goat stories! I had to tell DH about her goats getting out after her storm, and he just looked at me and said "Oh?". He kinda wonders about what the draw here is at what my family call the "Butterfly Board"...Is that disrespectful or what? I've told them it's ladybugs...I got tired of flinging stuff away, so here I am again. Yeah, sometimes it's thrills and sometimes it's not...Maybe I'll go water my tomato plants...Talk to you later! "Eventful" sounds like the right word for your day, Seren.

By the way, I have been trying to send something to your e-mail, and it is coming back "mailbox over quota." Will try to send it again later tonight.

Have a good one!....BB

Seren, you tell a wicked story! It will be nice for DH to visit with daughters like that and we will have you to ourselves in September. Can't wait.

It surely will be an interesting visit with daughter's DBF. After the visit, he can decide if he prefers casual or stuffiness. I vote for the casualness.

Geez girl, I'm worn out from reading your post!! LOL!! Your whole family are busy people, and they sure do have some great things planned to do on their vacation.

I'm looking forward to the 'boyfriend' stories after her gets here. Bet it won't take him long at all to learn how to be 'laid back'..LOL!!

Wonder what was on Maggie dog's mind when she made her oopsie?!! Furbabes and little kids, you just never know..LOL!!

I don't know what was on Maggie's mind, not very much I'm sure!! As we have realized early on, she is a very very cute mutt, but not one of the brighter ones! But she doesn't care, she knows she has got us all wrapped around her little paws...such a bad dog!! She did know, though, that she had done a bad thing. It was so funny. She had her ears back and rolled over on her back in 2 seconds! She knew all right. It's so darned hard to stay mad at her, and well does she know that!

Yes, we are an easy family to get "laid back" with! LOL Don't know if that's a good thing, but I think it's the truth!

Hope your foot is mending very well! Enjoy your Sunday! Seren

At least they were calling it the butterfly board....I remember the time DH made reference to "what are they anyhow..waterbugs?".

Takes while for them to get it, in the beginning they just can't seem to get their minds around the idea.

WOW! I'm exhausted after reading your post, Seren! LOL! Busy times chez toi!

I'm glad to know your DDs are well and safe and surviving exams. It will be good to have them home again ... for a while anyhow.

I'm also glad to know you'll be going to Savannah. I have never met anyone from the board so this is an extra special treat for me!

Have a great day.

F.

G'morning, Francine! You know, I think I have (sometimes!) a breathless way of reporting my dull days! Be grateful I'm not a news reader or a weather person! Seren
