Our daughter had her baby shower today. My goodness, what a wealth

of treasure that little baby received! I remember being happy with

sheets and blankets and little sleepers. This precious baby has

almost everthing it will need for starting out. My dm gave her

granddaughter a shaw that had held me and wanted dd to use it for her

child. I gave her the christening gown that I made for her. And

goodness she received lots of items with ducks on them. Lol! And dh

gave her a picture that he painted of a mother bear holding a baby

bear, so cute. There were almost 25 people at this shower!

The games were cute, except for trying to guess what baby food was

what. I didn't realize how "nasty" some of that stuff is. Probably

because there is little or no sugar in it. Need some sweetness.

A long day for dd, and tiring. For me, too. But fun.

Hope all are doing well this evening.

Hugs,

Fran

Fran, so glad DD had such a nice shower. Are you getting excited??? You're right showers are different now a days, both baby and wedding. It use to be that you would get things like dish towels and pot holders or receiving blankets and little sleepers for shower gifts. Now it's small appliances and comforters and sheets for wedding showers and strollers and playpens for baby showers. Have a nice evening! KaCee

Poof!!! I'm gone!!

I went to a babyshower for DD2's friend about six months ago. Things sure have changed as far as gifts go; I gave her a big box of Pampers and some bibs and felt cheap when I saw the stroller and carseat and such that her friends gave her. They started playing a game called "Who's Next" (something like catching the bridal bouquet) and the girl's mother, aunt, and I stepped outside (lol). I wanted DD2 to come out with me but she wanted to stay and watch. She didn't win, thank goodness. Kathey
