Good Sunday Morning.

It is a cool day here and is going to be cooler tomorrow. We had severe storms come through yesterday with tornados and large hail, golfball size. There were some reports of hail the size of baseballs. That doesn't happen here. For one stretch of about a mile and a half, the road was covered with ice and it became eerily foggy. I want no more of that. Thankfully, there was no damage at my house, but all this was only about 4 miles away.

Before all that happened, my DSs and DGD and I spent a great afternoon together. We were in a mall part of the time and were looking at things in the Toddler 3 size. Funny how females that age already know what they like. We bought a dress which came with matching shoes with paw paw flowers on them. (Looked like dandelions) Before my granddaughter, I never had a girl to buy for and I am really enjoying it.

Time at work seems to be flying and school will be over soon. There is so much to handle before the staff leaves for the summer. Hope to be on the board more after the end of May.

Have a nice Sunday, all. I plan to turn off the TV and all other distractions and try to destress. There is a nest of baby bluebirds in a birdhouse that has stood empty for about 5 years and I only noticed yesterday because they were chirping so loudly. Being outside restores my sense of wellbeing and I have missed it.

Good afternoon,Bren. I hope you have sun today. Sitting out in the yard with a good book and the music of the birds sounds good. Kathey

Hi Brenner. Glad you are taking a de-stress day. the weather here looked funny a couple times yesterday, but we didn't get any of the bad stuff. We saw on Weather channel that you guys were having a tough time. Glad you didn't have any damage. It's rather cool here and suppose to be the same tomorrow. I've been busy redoing a dresser I started on before I went back to work. Hopefully, I'll have it done by next weekend so we can finish the bedroom. A sweet little wren has decided the artifical arrangement have by the front door was the place for her nest. No little ones yet, but I'm sure they'll be along soon. Enjoy the birdies and you day! After the dreadful winter we have all had its such a joy to be outside.

I spoke with my daughter in NC today and she also said it was a little chillier than usual but that the weather before this was wonderful.

I haven't my little family of birds this year, I guess because I moved the birdhouse..it was right along side my front door and while I enjoyed having them they made a awful mess.

Glad the end of your school year is near and that you're getting to enjoy the outside and destress....Enjoy the rest of you Sunday.

Oh Bren, you are going to have a lot more fun with DGD as she grows up. It is interesting seeing them develop their likes and dislikes to the point that they know how to "shop". Glad you had a nice time.

Kathey, we didn't have a lot of sun, in fact it was cool. It is not supposed to be above 61 tomorrow. At least we won't have another hail storm. Do you work in the summer? I work 11 months and have liked that.

This afternoon, I drove through the area that had the worst of the hail storm. The ground for several miles is covered with green leaves that were beaten and blown from the trees. I heard of some people farther north who were caught on the lake in boats. I think they were pretty terrified as well as bruised.

How are you doing the dresser? Are you painting or refinishing? I used the hand applied poly on the chair that I did last summer. I wish I had found that stuff sooner. It can be used on any surface inside except floors.

That is strange, for I moved this box this year. It had never been used so I decided to toss it, but instead hung it again in the very opposite direction.

I hope the storms missed your daughter, they were moving south from about mid state.

Being with my DGD reminds me of why I wanted to be a teacher. Sometimes when I am with her for a while and get to see how her mind is working and how she thinks, I wish that I were just beginning my teaching career. I rode beside her to Greensboro yesterday and she was looking at the roadside flowers and saying they were pretty. She then started talking about bubbles. I finally figured out that she was talking about the clouds in the sky which were big and puffy yesterday. I said "Those are clouds, Jordy.". She said, " Jordy's clouds?" I said, "God's clouds." Then she said "Jordy's bubbles." I think there is a lesson there such as if God gives you lemons...

Anyway, I thought you would appreciate that little story since we were riding in the second seat of your van. : )

I don't think it got to 50 here with no sun. I can work summer school if I want. I put in an application for summer school just in case I decide to. That doesn't start until the third week of June. Regular school gets out late this year--first week of June. I don't know why the late date, we didn't have any snow days to make up. Kathey
