Good evening, Bugs! Very quiet here for

the moment. It's been a long day, and everytime the storming let up and I tried to sneak onto the computer, in would come more thunder! and RAIN! But for now it is peaceful. Maggie and I were getting cabin fever, so we ventured out into the wet soggy yard this afternoon. The ground was so sodden and mushy I got onto onto the cement sidewalks where I could. She helped me drag limbs over to the gate, from where we will let DH wrestle them out to the curb whenever he gets a chance. Maggie helped by being very alert and racing around the yard to make sure no forbidden creatures were lurking...(For those who don't know, Maggie is not a DDaughter; she is our DDog! LOL) We only had a few limbs down. A couple more inches of rain are forecast for this night, and the ground is already holding what it can. This is when the trees start to fall over if the winds are strong, and we have one that fell over a few years ago. Our exchange son at the time, a Siberian boy, attacked the tree with DH's power saw, and spent days happily cutting and organizing the logs. The tree grew back again from the stump he left, into another perfectly shaped tree. It is one of those ornamental pears which is a lovely tree but has a tendency to fall over, and we would not have planted it but someone before us had. Well, making a short story very long as I tend to do..., let's all hope the strong winds don't pull it over tonight!! The flooding has been a real mess for a lot of homeowners. Fortunately no one has been injured as far as I have heard, either from flooding or from the tornadoes that touched down all afternoon.

Yes, I believe a lot of our weather has proceeded on to Dannie and BB Territory, as is often the case. Lucky for BB, she is idling away her time at poolside and dreaming of her next seafood dinner! How are you faring, Dannie? And I wonder if this all headed on towards Ellen, or maybe on into the Carolinas?

Both DDs phoned home today, and I thought oh, how sweet that they are concerned about the old folks at home. Well, neither one of them had heard a thing, as they are both deep into exams and were calling to whine about the unfairness of life in general for 20-somethings, and specifically for those who are working hard when it appears that everyone else around them has found an easier approach to life....Yes, I really emphasized the *appears* part of that concern. The grass is always greener...Then the older one called back to apologize for complaining, as she knows she's doing some good things for herself. Sometimes I think one of my chief jobs as a mother is to listen to the whines, and prop them up again, and then forget they ever brought the whines to me...hmmm? Please tell me this is typical! or have I somehow developed this pattern with them and "the rest of the world has found an easier approach to life"!! LOLOL Oh me. Being locked inside all day has made me a little punchy, Bugs! I need to slap some sense back into myself before DH gets here and I unload *stuff* on him! Oh, one day I will have to tell you about my dream night before last about DH and the DDs and me and the flying carpet!!! Escapism at its best! Night all. Seren
