Well, we could start our Survivor rehash

but it's too early since KaCee, for one, will not have seen it yet I think...Oh, it was good, very good! Just as it was ending, I called it right, which is unheard of for me! I never know what's going to happen, and don't understand a lot that goes on. Hmmmm. Well, hate to be cryptic, so guess this most-important analysis process (LOLOL) must wait...Til later. Seren

Since we have to wait for KaCee, how about telling me about A Manor House.

Jenna really needs to get home and get well. She probably would've been booted off if Heidi hadn't mouth off about how important she is.
I expect that Matthew will win in the end, and he should IMO! He's played a good game, even when he was acting so scary with sharpening the blade all the time, he was still just 'playing the game'.
And that's my take on tonight's show of the dirty stinky Amazon players..LOL!!...Susie
Hugs,
..
My feelings about Survivor last night are exactly as yours. I too feel Matthew will win and he deserves to. He has proven to be the ultimate contestant. And for Heidi!! Yup, she opened her mouth too. Don't they ever learn? Apparently not. Open your mouth like that and the eyes bug out. Now see, I word it so crudely and you word it so entertainingly! I can't wait to share the building with you for some good laughs in the evenings.
Now for The Manor House. I "never" watched it before last Sunday. I had tons of ironing to do, turned on the t.v. (or else I would fall down in boredom) and just happened to click onto PBS. I enjoyed it and halfway through realized it was the show you and KaCee have been talking about. Didn't really pay too much attention (dear me) to the comments so know nothing about the progress of the show.
Please, please fill me in. Is it a contest? Just what IS the background of the show.
OMG, this is "Susie's" post. Red face. Well Mom, the same feelings go to you! lol

OK, well I couldn't agree more with what you've said, Susie. Just when Heidi opened up about being the master manipulator (huh? what was that about? maybe she was *trying* to save Jenna for one more week?), I said to DH: What if the guys boot her and leave Jenna? Jenna is no threat because she's all whiney and has a tonsil problem or whatever. How mean would that be? So when that happened we both just hooted!
Matthew has been an excellent competitor. He competes to win, but not necessarily for the prize, you know? He is just a competitor. As long as it's not Jenna. Rob tried to "play the game" and has done himself in. Butch is a good man, and can at least return home and be proud of himself, win or lose. I just wonder how the jury will vote. Butch has no enemies, but does Matthew? hhmmmmm assuming Rob and Jenna don't make it. Ahhhh. Sunday night... LOL Seren
Second off: Manor House. Did you just see one episode? It wasn't a contest. Just a sort of reality show, with a group of contemporary people put into the life of an Edwardian manor house. For the abovestairs family, it was quite lovely, except for the spinster sister, who was treated as a second class person, no rights at all. The lord and lady really had a very pleasant existence, though I wonder for how long the lady could have been satisfied with a life consisting only of getting dressed for different parts of her day. She's an emergency room doctor in *real* life, and probably would need more stimulation to be happy for very long. The master seem to take to his *position* only too fast! Below stairs was a different matter altogether! Life was hard, and especially tough for today's young people being expected to do menial labor, follow a rigid class system where they were on the bottom, and so on. I liked the show because it gave me so many things to ponder. Every aspect of the life was interesting, and I could picture how family life was for my father as a child, and for his parents. Not that they lived in an English manor house! but the ways people treated each other and why, and so on. I thought it was endlessly fascinating. But it wasn't a game show; when it was over, the participants just changed back into modern dress and went back to their lives. KaCee posted a site, maybe just the PBS site, that was a good one to fill you in on the background. Maybe she'll repost it for you.
Thirdly: I am not so funny! This is me being serious! Actually I think raising children makes a lot of us kinda funny, don't you? All things being equal, and barring major tragedies, you either develop a humorous approach to life, and laugh a lot, or, hhmmm, life can get pretty hair-raising. It's a defense mechanism! But I'm excited to meet you, too! Seren
So, Jackie, sounds like you know your stuff here...I'm always surprised by what happens. But then, as my DH says, I wake up in a new world every day. I'm not sure how he means that, but we won't go there. Yes, Sunday! Please don't be a stranger here and have a good Friday yourself! (looked at your profile...we're neighbors!!) Seren
Heidi, Heidi, Heidi. What more can I say? Every time one of them starts boasting about how esstential they are.......BAM! And this was the second time Jenna BEGGED to be sent home. Please send her home!!! Did you see Dave in the jury with his head buried in his hands when Heidi was talking? The looks on everyones faces, just great. I managed to see Heidi on the "morning after" show and of course she blamed everything on editing. Then they took three phone calls from three women who didn't hold back, calling Jenna and Heidi "prima donnas" and "prom queens"(loved it!!). Asking her how she could claim to be one of the key people that held the camp together when she, Alex and Jenna just laid around sun-bathing.(editing)What kind of body image message was she sending to her phys-ed students with her comments that the older women were not as pretty as her, young as her or skinny as her(that darn editing again!)and her and Jennas shabby treatment of Christie.(once more that darn editing!)She claimed she would never act that way in REAL life and it's all about the game. Maybe so.. I don't know, but my experience in life has been the more tired and stressed you are the more the truth comes out, you don't have the energy to "be polite" if you aren't naturally so.
Who is going to win?? I have no idea. I thought Butch had cooked his goose(no pun intended!) when the fire burnt everybody's stuff up(which brings up another question, where did they get the shirts they were wearing at tribal council?)and was surprised the girls voted for Rob. If the jury sees the tapes(do they?)all of Robs stuff should count him out. Matt is scarey...but has played well. Butch..I don't think he has offended anyone really. Jenna..no, no, no. That's my two cents. Setting up the VCR for Sunday evening!!! KaCee
Poof!!! I'm gone!!
