Hi Ladybugs, my DSIL who is my DD1's hubby, Scott & Allison's parents, is looking for a suggestion from me for a nice Mother's Day gift for my DD.

She already has mother's day rings for both children.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help...Susie

Hugs,

Hi Susiebug. Are they into computers. How about a camera or webcam to record daily activites of the kids.

I hope you are well tonight. I am just getting on the computer for today. I actually made myself clean the kitchen before I allowed myself to turn it on. I still need to put dishes away but was starting to feel withdrawal pains so came on board. Kathey

Hi Susiebug! Does your DD like Christian Music! Does she have a walkman CDplayer? There is a lot of nice music to listen to! I just burned a music CD for my DD2, She is going through a lot now and I figure this music will help her!

He could give her a gift certificate to pick out what she wants to listen to or what ever!

I hope this suggestion helps him! The group that I made the music CD of, is Plus One!

DD3 said that she has 2 of their Cds in her collection now! That is something that DD3 and I have in common with each other, We like the same kind of music! and she likes my cooking! LOL. Hugs, SusieK

Hi Kathy, oh my yes, they..or he..are very much into computers and many other techie thingies. He's the administrator above all the techs at the newspaper here, so he's always up on anything new coming down the pike. They got new digital cameras and video cameras when Scott was born.

I haven't posted much myself for the past few days. I'm doing well though, thank you. You sure are disiplined today with making yourself do domestic work before coming to the computer. Hmmmm..seems like you have your priorities backwards there girlfriend..LOL!!

Hope all's well with you too...Susie

Hi SusieK...yes, they do have lots of music; burn CD's, buy whatever they want musically (within reason), etc.

I did think of two ideas..one was a charm for her silver charm bracelet along with fresh or potted flowers. The other is a silver frame engraved with "To Mommy..Love, Scott and Allison". Then he could dip the kids hands in my DD's craft paints and print their hands onto a nice paper, then cut it out and put it into the frame.

I also told him that there will be a lot of Mother's Day displays in the gift shops and department stores too. He's going to look around tomorrow. Nice that he wants to find just the right thing for her.

I'm sure he'll come up with something nice, but I went blank when he first asked me so I came to the Ladybugs for suggestions. Thank you for your's.

Nice that your DD and you have same things in common. I have something in common with you too...you like to cook and I like to eat..LOL!!

~~Take care, Susie

Disaplined, no. Despirate, yes. It started with coming home from work and needing a clean cup for coffee. Then I realized the coffee pot could use a good cleaning (no one around here but me knows how to put the splash guard on it(lol)). Then I figured I may as well give the toaster and micro a once over and one thing just led to another and before you know it, my sleeves were rolled up.

I am taking a big step tomorrow. I will be setting foot on Viking ground. Have to go to Minnesota to pick up DD2. We will be passing MM's area and if this was a planned trip I could have made arrangements to stop by and say,"hi". But it is a not, so I will just wave as we pass through her neighborhood. I have never been to MN and think I will wear my Packer garb just to stir up trouble. Kathey

Oh that's a shame you can't get with MM! You could've seen her house and her beautiful koi ponds. That would've been such a special stopover. Enjoy your DD though, good idea wearing the Viking purple so you'll get smiles from everyone you pass...LOL!!...Susie

How about a romantic weekend get-away? ... No kids. No cooking. No house cleaning!

A quaint country inn in a small town so they can go antiquing and such.

Or a whirlwind city theater weekend ... whichever suits her best. Note I say *her*. This is *her* gift.

This gift could be for the future and perhaps presented in a new weekend bag.

Just a thought.

Susie, I remember DD saying how she would have appreciated a night out with DH after DGD was born. After about 4 weeks of colic, she was kind of frazzled.

Maybe your DSIL would appreciate a complete evening with DH, all expenses paid of course. At this stage of your recovery, I realize you would not be able to babysit all night, but if you arranged it, maybe someone else would.

Just a thought.

Ouuuu..great idea!! Would have worked out great *before* kids, now it's unaffordable though I'm afraid. If it was before kids though, it wouldn't have been a Mother's Day gift..LOL!! Now they're busy spending their money on furniture to make the kiddies room beautiful and other household items.

Thank you for the idea though, wish I was taking that little trip...Hug, Susie

Maybe dinner out without the kids would be doable. I will make that suggestion to him. Thank you Lanie...Hugs, Susie
