Did any of you bugs see his interview on Fox news yesterday around 4:30 p.m.?

He is the 27 year old hiker who cut off his own hand to save his life. What an amazing interview. He spoke for about 30 minutes and it was the most awe inspiring interview I have ever watched. That young man will surely succeed in life. His perception of life and lack of bravado towards what he did, were something else. He spoke in a calm manner of what got him through the 5 days of being pinned by that boulder. I wish you could have seen the interview, because I certainly cannot present to you, the feelings he brought out in me.

Towards the end of the interview, he told how he had to break each bone in his arm to free himself. I cried. His voice was calm, factual. Oh dear, such a beautiful young man. The world needs more people like him.

I agree! And I cried, too.

This is one of those times I argued with God. He must have been there but He should have done more. It makes me angry! I have always had a hard time with the *Thy will be done* part of faith. I also never took orders well.

And to think! I considered becoming nun! LOL!

Many blessings to you today!

I have trouble with "thy will be done" also F. I'm sure we will receive a lecture or two from some of the other bugs.

Didn't see the interview myself but read the story in paper.

A very brave young man, as far as the "thy will be done" you'll get now lecture from this bug.

I personally have quite a few disagreements with some of the things that were drummed into those of us that attended Catholic school, especially in light of how many of those things have been "changed" over the years.

There is now talk of a "movie" to be made about Aron's experience. He has decided to give no more interviews because of that. This young man may come away from this ordeal a very wealthy young man!

But, oh my, what inner strength - and such a will to live!

As to the 'thy will be done' thing ..... I think that some churches stress far too much the 'leave it to God' thing. Personally I think they should be stressing that we learn to use the mind He gave us to make wise decisions!!!

God did not put Aron in harms way, God did not "let" it happen to him, Aron made the choice that put him in harms way. God, however, did help Aron through his ordeal by giving him the strength to do what was necessary to survive.

IMHO....

I was talking to DH about this interview and how I wish I had seen it. He got this squeamish look on his face, said he's seen part of it, but he couldn't even stand to think about it. He didn't watch the whole interview even, because it was upsetting to him! And this is the same man who watched every little bit of war coverage, and never seems upset by the violence on the news. It surprised me that he had been so affected by this young man's ordeal. It's amazing how many strong and brave people there are in our world, the quiet ones who survive incredible ordeals. They're generally not the noisey drum-beaters we hear from most often. Yes, the world could use more of this type. Hope life treats Aron very well from here on out; you know he'll make the best of whatever life hands him. Seren
