I'm a few weeks behind KaCee, but I finally have a huge bouquet of lilacs in my living room! I have been smelling them thru the open doors and windows and when I go out to get the mail for the past couple of days. So today I finally went out and cut some!

It has been raining off and on most of the week and I dare not mow my yard yet, but that will to be done real soon - or I'll have to bale the clippings!! As it is I'll have to mow twice in at least one area. I'll cut high and then re-mow!

See ya'll later.....

I do not have any lilacs and miss them. Haven't seen any around here. We had a lilac hedge in the yard of the house where I grew up and like you loved it when they bloomed. Think my parents have been able to save a couple of the bushes with the paving, building etc. that has gone on over the years.

Enjoy your evening.

Lilacs are my favorite flowers. And I love the fragrance. I have all kinds of room deodorizers and candles with that lovely lilac scent. I'm always looking for things that smell like them. We don't have any here at my house. But we are now surrounded by the lovely smell of honeysuckle. We seem to be having a bumper crop of them this year, and they perfume the air.

Have a great day and a wonderful Mother's Day.

Waaaaa..I'm jealous!! My lilacs got frozen by three days of below freezing temps during the night time just before they were about to bloom out. Darn it!! I love them too, they give me a nostalgic feeling and they smell sooooo good and are so pretty. Glad you got to enjoy your's though...Hugs, Susie

Hugs,

Love the smell of lilacs. We have some, but not many.

You are going to be "grinding" through that grass after the weather dries up a little.

We have lilacs blooming here too. Know what is sad? From our spur east on highway 20 they are putting hard shoulders on the road.....the groves of evergreens, trees and lilacs....gone....but in the rubble today I saw one of the little runners from one of those bushes standing about 3' high like a willow branch in the ground just loaded with blooms....I know those groves of trees were very old they were there when I was a little girl it is just sad to see them go. Yes some were looking ragged but I don't know if the state will let them plant more....at least not that close to the road.....some changes are good others are sad........Janet

I just love Lilacs but don't have any myself, if I remember right you have quite a lot of them don't you?

They came to mow us yesterday and it was quite job because we had to reseed in a couple of placed and they couldn't mow for two weeks until the seed started to come up.

Between the fertilizer and the rain we've had the grass was really high..

Good luck with your mowing.
