Yard is mowed - finally!

I spent nearly 2 1/2 hours out there today! Mowed the 'tall' part first (the part that DS did not get mowed when he did the rest of it a week ago) then the rest of it and then that part twice more! Mowed in nearly every direction I could. The grass was so deep and heavy there that it was still rather wet from last night's rain - so I had to mow it in layers. Even then it just wanted to get squished flat!! But it is done now. For a couple of days!

My neighbor caught me out on the mower and wanted me to go have a 'burger' with him. This is the guy who lost his wife about a year and a half ago. He is a very opinionated man, and one of those people who rank way up the ladder in knowing 'everything' that is going on in our neighborhood! I'm really hoping he does not take it into his head to make this a habit! But we had a pleasant late lunch. Our little outting will be the "talk of the neighborhood" for a few days at least, as there were several who saw us go! Ah well!!

I need to go to the grocery store, so I guess I'd better get under way....

What's that Reba song, KT? "Let's Give 'em Something To Talk About" Don't you just love neighborhood talk! LOL! That first big mow can really be something! Glad you had a pleasant lunch. Have a good evening! KaCee P.S. I'll get back to you on the cupcakes after we try them and see if they pass the taste test. Never made them before but they smell good.

Poof!!! I'm gone!!

I helped DS2 take care of my yard last night. I was tuckered out when it was done. Doesn't it look good when you get it all done at once?

This neighbor may grow on you, Katie.

Have a nice Mother's Day. Are you having your usual brunch?

LOL - hi Katie. Sounds like you've had an interesting day as well :)

Nice to have the yard under control, isn't it? And nice to top it off with a pleasant lunch. Didn't it make you feel just a little "pleasantly wicked" knowing you're the topic of the day in the neighbourhood, lol!?!

We had the same rain as you yesterday but it was very pleasant here today. Rain for tomorrow, though, "they" say.

have a nice Mother's day, Katie.

hugs
